This is a very rare and desirable XK 140 Drop Head Coupe with special equipment. It has a 3442cc/dual over head cam inline 6 cylinder with it original C head & block. 4 speed transmission with overdrive, 2 + 2 seating, rack & pinion steering. This is an excellent restoration with beautiful paint, new biscuit leather interior with Wilton wool carpets, perfectly refinished wood dash and door caps, chrome wire wheels, correct white wall tires, fog lights and dual exhaust system. Body: Stripped down to bare metal 10 years ago and repainted. Absolutely no rust. Paint looks almost new. All the chrome is near perfect. The top canvas is new. The entire car is treated with sound and heat insulation beneath the carpet with new cotton pads as per original specifications. New GAZ shocks with variable settings are installed, with the original oil shocks available. New springs are installed. The wood dash panel was rebuilt. All instruments, including the clock, are in working order. The speedometer is operational, however, the odometer mileage is unverified. The sport seats are a reproduction of the ones available at building time. The original bench is available and it was re-upholstered. Engine: Fully detailed and show-ready. The vitrified exhaust manifolds are in perfect condition. The mufflers and dual stainless steel exhaust were wrapped entirely with heat tape, professionally done. The carburetors are new old stock (NOS). A European 123 electronic self-contained ignition is installed in the distributor body, maintaining the original look. A new aluminum radiator with added electrical fan and flex fan is installed, with the original radiator available as well. The oil pan is the larger aluminum design, an original option, and is protected by the original steel plate as seen in some XK120s. The engine starts immediately and runs perfectly. The car was taken on a 1,000 mile trip, at times running at 70 – 80 MPH at over 8 hours at a time, with absolutely no concerns. Transmission: The Moss overdrive transmission was substituted by a manual Borg Warner T5, providing for an exceptional driving experience. The original Moss overdrive transmission is available and is in full working condition. Electrical: Maintains a 12V positive ground system with the original generator installed. All of the wiring has been upgraded and is fully functional. The head lamps have been converted to HID but are easily reversible to the original. The tail lamps were upgraded to brighter LED for safety. All aftermarket elements were hidden, maintaining the original elegance of the vehicle. Brakes - The brakes has an original assisted air booster and has an amazing braking power. Tires - Coker tires with white wall but are radial for safety. This 1956 Jaguar XK140 MC drophead coupe underwent a mechanical refurbishment in the 2000s and was acquired by the seller in 2019. The car is finished in maroon with a tan soft top over biscuit leather upholstery, and power comes from a numbers-matching 3.4L inline-six paired with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Features include electronic ignition, an alloy oil pan, an aluminum radiator, fog lights, LED taillights, rack-and-pinion steering, C-Type-style bucket seats, and under-dash phone charging ports. This XK140 is now offered in Maryland with removed seats, a four-spoke steering wheel, a Moss four-speed manual gearbox, tools, an operator’s handbook, service records, service manuals, and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.

The drophead coupe features an integrated windshield frame, roll-up side windows, and exterior door handles. This example is said to have been repainted in its current maroon under previous ownership in the 1990s. Features include Lucas J headlights with HID bulbs, yellow-lens fog lamps, LED turn signals and taillights, dual fender-mounted mirrors, and chrome bumpers and bumperettes. The car is fitted with four-way flashers. The tan soft top features a plastic rear window.

The chrome 16” wire wheels wear two-eared knock-off spinners and are mounted with Michelin Pilote X TT tires that were reportedly installed in 2019. A matching spare wheel with a whitewall tire is mounted in the trunk. A rack-and-pinion steering system was reportedly installed in 2006, the front suspension was rebuilt with urethane bushings in 2007, and Gaz shock absorbers are fitted front and rear. A rebuild of the brake system is said to have been performed in 2006, and a remote vacuum brake servo was installed at the time.

The interior was refurbished in 2005 and features C-Type-style bucket seats trimmed in biscuit leather along with matching door panels and carpets. Dynamat sound insulation is reportedly fitted, and additional features include a burl wood dashboard that was refinished in the 2000s, lap belts with Leaper buckles, a glovebox-mounted Garmin DriveSmart 7″ GPS system, and an under-dash charging port. Two removed seats are included in the sale.

The 16″ Moto-Lita steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock, a 140-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges for amperage, fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The clock and a fuel sending unit were installed in 2005. The five-digit odometer shows 57k miles, 2,700 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 3.4-liter inline-six is said to have been rebuilt in the 1990s and features twin SU carburetors. A 2005 service reportedly included the installation of a new head gasket, an aluminum water pump, a heavy-duty crankshaft dampener, front and rear oil seals, a 12.5-quart alloy oil pan, a high-flow oil pump, a tappet guide hold-down kit, and electronic ignition. An aluminum radiator and overflow tank are also fitted. Service performed in 2020 included the installation of a high-torque gear reduction starter, spark plugs, wires, and a distributor cap and rotor.

Cylinder head stamping G7667–8S matches the engine block stamping and chassis tag.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec T5 five-speed manual transmission. A Moss four-speed manual gearbox is included in the sale. The exhaust system features Guy Broad manifolds and wrapped stainless steel piping. A steel sump guard was installed in 2005.
