This Jaguar XK140 cabriolet is an interesting SE version (Special Equipment), with the special option " Type C " cylinder head, providing 210 bhp, and also wire wheels and Lucas spotlights. The car was delivered new to New York on 14 July 1955 by the importer Hoffman, in red with black interior, as confirmed by the Jaguar certificate in the file. The husband of the current owner acquired the car in 2010, which was described as having been completely restored in 2001. A collector with very high standards, he subsequently had extensive work carried out to make it perfect. The wiring loom was replaced, the odometer converted to kilometres, the brakes overhauled and a 5-speed Gtrag gearbox was fitted. The car was given an extensive service by the Classic Garage in Munich in 2012, and the work carried out is recorded in a file of invoices. Presented in an elegant shade of metallic grey, with black upholstery and matching carpets, this cabriolet is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition. The hood is in very good condition and the car is fitted with little worn Michelin X tyres. Here is a carefully restored example that is ready for its next owner to enjoy.
