Private Party Or Dealer: Dealer
This 1956 Jaguar XK140 Drophead Coupe is finished in burgundy with a beige soft top over a beige leather interior and is powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a replacement five-speed manual gearbox. The car was acquired by the selling dealer in 2020, reportedly from its prior owner of 29 years. Modifications are said to include a C-Type cylinder head sourced from an MC model, an aluminum radiator, front disc brakes, halogen headlights, and Dayton wire wheels. This XK140 DHC is now offered in Massachusetts with a clean Pennsylvania title.
This example featires fender-mounted mirrors, and a body-length chrome center spear. Halogen headlights were installed during previous ownership. Chrome 16″ Dayton wire wheels were installed during previous ownership and are mounted with Avon Turbo Steel radial tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
Beige leather covers the seats and door panels, while burgundy carpets line the floors. Lap belts have been added for both front occupants, and burled walnut dash and door caps are fitted. Cracks in the wood finish can be seen.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a reverse-sweep tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline and an inset clock, a 140-mph speedometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. Just over 70k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer. Total mileage is unknown.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a replacement five-speed manual transmission.
