Car returns to ebay 10/6/10

Current bid $6,766 reserve not met, 9 bids 9 days left in auction. Car in same location.

Sellers description:
I purchased this Jag from the original owner back in 1968 and put 30,000 miles on it by 1972, when I was eight months pregnant and simply no longer able to fit behind the wheel. No tilt wheels back then, and there was no place for the baby. Babies two, three, four, and five came along. By the time number five was out of her car seat in 1989, I was firmly entrenched in a minivan. I am finally ready to relinquish all hope of getting this back on the road for myself and hoping to hand her over to someone who will love and appreciate her. Even our daughters are too old to enjoy her now; they have families of their own. This is a very limited edition car with modified cams and overdrive. I have read that they made only 52 such 140s, but someone else claimed only 16 still in existence. My husband , an old time body guy, has been promising to restore it for me, but he is 77 years old now and running out of steam. So here is your opportunity to own a great classic needing complete restoration. The engine will run with a fresh battery and minor tune up. As for the body, the pictures speak for themselves. There are some rusted areas, but it is basically sound. The frame is solid, as is the battery box. The most work is repairs to the right door and shut panel. My husband says they are repairable. Tires are dry rotted, but hold air. Brakes need rebuilding. The muffler flex connection is broken. The interior needs everything, but the top frames and seat frames are still ok. All the glass is good. Windows roll up and down. We installed a new fuel tank and filler neck and fuel pump. Included are some extra parts as shown in the photos. The engine and transmission have matching original numbers.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
