All-numbers-matching, British Racing Green, highly original 1956 left hand drive Jaguar XK140 Drophead Coupe with C-type cylinder head and Overdrive.
Can be converted to right hand drive for £6K.
Drives really well. Overdrive excellent. New MOT Certificate. Jaguar Heritage Certificate.
Straight body with good panel gaps. Original wooden dashboard. New beige hood. Good chromework.
Work recently completed by classic Jaguar XK specialists includes:
engine rebuild, overdrive rebuild, carburettors rebuild, new clutch, gearbox check, new electrical wiring harness, new hood, bodywork & paintwork improvements, new rear leaf springs, new shock absorbers, new ball joints, new gaskets/ hoses/ clips/rubber seals/ drive belts, new engine and gearbox mounts, new fuel lines, new brake pipes and wheel cylinder, new clutch & brake master cylinders, new radial tyres, new stainless steel exhaust system, new dynator (alternator which looks like dynamo), new coil, new plugs & distributor, new throttle linkage, dashboard instruments overhauled, new carpets and door cards, sound insulation fitted, new boot internal panels, new ball joints, new track control rods and steering rack ends, new front indicators and J-type headlamp assemblies, new horns, new windscreen rubbers, new starter switch, new boot lock etc.
Provenance: believed 3 owners from new - first purchased in the UK by Eric Stroh (founder of the American Stroh beer company) - he drove it in UK with British registration NVC533 (now restored to the car) before taking it to USA and keeping it for many years (email from his daughter confirms this).
