This convertible Jaguar XK 140 we are offering was sold new to Charles Hornburg, the first Jaguar importer in the United States, based out of Los Angeles. It was then sold to its first owner, William A. Miller, residing in Burbank (California), who retained the car for 34 years before selling it to Larry and Linda Berger, from Livermore, California. They used the car for seven years before they sold it and the car moved to the Netherlands in 1998.
This XK 140 convertible with automatic transmission is in excellent condition. Black in colour, which is its original shade, with beautiful green leather upholstery, it is presented in a rare model for this type of condition. The paint and chrome are flawless, and the interior with its superb seats and wood with paint, is flawless. As an XK 140 "MC" (equivalent to a "SE" for the United States), the original engine has a special tune with SU H8 carburetors, the power going up to 210bhp and the top speed exceeding 190 km/h. The car also received enhanced torsion bars and dual exhausts system. The mechanicals have the same quality as the rest, the engine displaying very good oil pressure. The exhaust, electrical circuit and the brakes are all new, the latest maintenance invoice, dated April 2013 amounting to as much as € 18,150. This stunning car comes with a "Heritage Certificate". Very desirable in this condition, it will provide the purchaser all the pleasures of a1950s English sports car of class and performance.

The Jaguar XK 140 cabriolet on offer was delivered new to Charles Hornburg, the first Jaguar importer in the United States, based in Los Angeles. It was then sold to its first owner, William A. Miller, who kept the car for 34 years before selling it on to Larry and Linda Berger, from Livermore, also in California. It was later sold to the Netherlands in 1998 and joined a large French collection in 2013.
This automatic XK 140 cabriolet is presented in excellent condition. Painted black, its original colour, our collector had the interior re-done in a superb dark red colour by l'Atelier des Coteaux. The paint and chromework is immaculate, the same as the wood trim which has been revarnished using the correct French polishing technique. Being an XK 140 "MC" (the American equivalent of the "SE" ), the original engine has a special cylinder head and SU H8 carburettors, giving 210 bhp and a top speed of over 190 km/h. The car has also been fitted with reinforced torsion bars and a twin exhaust. The exhaust, electrical circuit and brakes have been refurbished, and invoices totalling over 35 000 € dating back to 2013 demonstrate that every detail of the car has been attended to down to the smallest details, such as the light in the boot ! This superb car is offered with its " Heritage Certificate ". Coming from one of the most prestigious French collections, well documented and in immaculate condition, this car runs beautifully and is ready to provide its new owner all the enjoyment of a 1950s British sportscar. Estimation 95 000 - 115 000 €
