Ebay item 9/23/11 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1957-Jaguar-XK140MC-Drophead-Coupe-/270823013863
Opening bid $35,000 reserve pricenot met, no bids 9 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Seattle, Washington. Buy it now price $88,000. VIN is listed as the motor number G901185.
Sellers description:
The car runs and drives well. The clutch has been upgraded to hydraulics à la Mark II or XK150 style. The wheel cylinders have been rebuilt. It is nicely tuned and sounds great.
The panel fit is very good. The underneath is clean and there are no signs of any significant rust anywhere. The paint is old, the interior is old and there is a flaw on the door panel, the top old but good. The wood trim is dull, but solid and good. This is a "driver" quality car, and not fully restored nor fresh. It is however extremely strong, solid and pure. It is a number matching motor and head. It has 4-speed w/ factory overdrive. It has wire wheels, factor wooden dash, roll-up windows and Drophead that provide luxury in this very fast sports car. It is arguably the best and most desirable combination of the XK series. Long term owned by a Texas museum for over 20 years.

Long term owned by a Texas museum for over 20 years. These cars are blue chip investments. Recent sales of similar cars include $230 &$350k in August, 2011.
For clarification, the car is titled by its motor G90118S, which is very common for cars of this vintage. The actual chassis number is actually S818967DN. The Texas title has a 1 digit typo where the "S" is listed as a "5".
It is priced to sell, so don't miss this small window. We can't replace this wonderful car.

Note: this car has been listed as S818987DN by a previous seller and S818967DN by this seller. The accompanying info, like the motor number and fuzzy image of the data plate, tend to make S818987DN the more likely VIN. Clarifications are always solicited, please contact the webmaster.
