High spec car with C type head, H8 carburettors, Close ratio O/D gearbox.
Being such a late car it has the all steel doors same manufacture as the XK150 doors

Selle's description:
This rare very late 1956 LHD Jaguar XK140 Drop Head Coupe which has the all steel door shells only fitted to a few of the very last cars built. It was originally supplied as a top spec car with C type motor, 2 inch H8 carbs and CR gearbox with overdrive. Unfortunately this motor and gearbox was removed and was fitted to another XK140 here in Australia. The comes therefore a non matching numbers car comes with a MKIX 3.8litre block and MKII head and manual overdrive gearbox. It still retains its original ID plate, body tag and matching numbers bonnet. In Black with Tan upholstery it would have been a sight to behold when new with its Black painted wire wheels. It represents a unique opportunity at $42,000 to get a very collectible XK at an affordable price that has great potential. The car obviously requires a lot of work as you will realise at this price. The Car comes with a couple of important jaguar books "Jaguar XK140 explored' "The Jaguar Xk140 in the Southern Hemisphere" Also available is a RHD XK140 DHC requiring total restoration.
