Sellers description:
Jaguar XK140 DHC C-type head 1957 LHD
This sought after XK140 belonged to one of my classic car friends in Belgium who, over the years, improved this XK in such a way that she became a fantastic driverscar.
Because this matching numbers XK140 was structurally in excellent condition, he could immediately concentrate on the mechanics.
Step by step following improvements and upgrades were installed:
- reconditionning of the engine by a well reputed specialist in Antwerp.
- fitting of a 5-speed Getrag gearbox.
- fitting of an electric power steering system and at the same time a sligtly smaller MotaLita steering wheel.
- fitting of servo assited disc brakes to front axle.
- fitting of a Kenlow electric fan.
- fitting of an aluminium fuel tank.
- fitting of a stainless steel exhaust.
- full repaint in BRG.
- rechroming of bumpers and front grille.
The result is that this XK140 not only drives wonderfully and is now better adapted to modern traffic, but also that the presentation is, as can been seen from attached photographs, simply first class!
