This is my third or fourth attempt to post to this page. It's unclear if I'm doing something wrong, if I'm being filtered for some reason, or if there's a malfunction somewhere. The first round of pictures got there, but nothing since. I have attempted to add some of the history of the vehicle and one more picture with the body in final color. (not on the frame)

This car was purchased new in Chicago by my father, for my mother, as a wedding gift. As a small child, I remember being a passenger once, but the car was parked after 1970 and only pulled out 35 years later.

The original colors can be seen in the photos. The restoration will imitate the original.

Can't wait to see it roll again ... This is one of the last XK140's! (we have one of the first and would love to put them together for a photo shoot)

Hi Peter, Terry advised me to contact you about this car. He said you would be interested in knowing more about its history and that the color, to him, was unexpected.

As of July 2020, this car is still not complete. I have not been able to reach the person restoring it and hope that he is well and that the car is still safe.

We took delivery last August. There are still some things to do but it’s home.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
