    1957 Jaguar XK150 3.4litre Fixed Head Coupe
    Registration no. J27500 (Jersey)
    Chassis no. S824030DN
    Engine no. V1526-8
    Estimate: £18,000 - 22,000
    €23,000 - 28,000
    US$ 29,000 - 35,000

Jaguar Drivers' Club records confirm that chassis no. S824030DN is an early XK150 manufactured in September 1957 and first registered in Nottingham with the number 867 ATO. It was subsequently registered with the British Forces in Germany and known to the JDC XK Register in 1979, at which time the engine number was recorded as 7627-8 . The colour was recorded as red and condition as partly restored. The car next surfaces in Jersey in 1990, passing through three ownerships there before acquisition by the vendor. He reports that the engine runs well and the brakes, tyres and chassis are in good order. The interior has been re-trimmed a few years ago in beige leather and carpets replaced, while the dashboard is original. The car has been badly stored and, although the bonnet and front wings are reported as generally sound, the roof paint needs attention and serious corrosion issues around the rear part of the body and rear wings need addressing. Mystery currently surrounds the significance of the black boot badge and the non-standard number plate holder – perhaps features of some early XK150 models. (Chassis numbers for the 3.4litre FHC commenced at 824001). It has been suggested that the cylinder head, which is numbered KJ4476-8, was originally fitted to a Mk2 saloon.

    Estimate £60,000 - £70,000

Jaguar Drivers' Club records confirm that chassis number S824030DN is an early XK150 manufactured in September 1957 and first registered in Nottingham with the number 867 ATO. It was subsequently registered with the British Forces in Germany and known to the JDC XK Register in 1979, at which time the engine was changed and the number was recorded as 7627-8. The colour was recorded as red and condition as partly restored. This car next surfaces in Jersey in 1990 with the registration number J27 500, passing through three ownerships there before returning to the UK in 2012. This XK150 drophead coupé has now been the subject to a ground-up restoration which was completed in June 2015 and has had very little use since. Finished in dark blue with tan leather interior, this example is supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in February 2018 and a photographic record of the restoration. Mystery currently surrounds the significance of the black boot badge, perhaps features of some early XK150 models. Chassis numbers for the 3.4 litre righthand drive, fixedhead coupé commenced at 824001 which would indicate that this XK150 was the thirtieth built. Righthand drive XK Jaguars from this period are very sought after and collectable and represent a usable classic giving the best of both worlds, a good investment and an enjoyable driving car.
