Seller's description:
Perranwell Garage , in Cornwall, United Kingdom
This lovely early Jaguar XK 150 fixed head coupe was manufactured in October 1957 with its first owner being Dubuck Garage in Dunbarton. The Garage was owned by Jimmy Stewart (Jackie Stewarts father) and was the Scottish Motor Show car in 1957. It has had just four owners in its life, the current one for the last 7 years. The current owner commissioned a major restoration of the car in 2015 carred out by Fender Broad Classic Cars. This project included a bare metal respray, engine rebuild by Guy Broad, upgrading the gearbox to a 5 speed MT75 Guy Broad unit, upgrading the original brakes to 4 pot calipers to the front and discs to the rear and the fitting of EZ power steering. The carburettors were restored and the cooling upgraded through the addition of a high flow water pump and high density radiator assisted by kenlowe fan and alloy header tank. The suspension was rebuilt with new bushes, shock absorbers and springs. At the same time all the wire wheels were replaced with new Blockley tyres. In the following year all the chrome work was refurbished.
Since restoration the car has covered relatively few miles and looks stunning in its original supplied colour of Cotswold Blue. The bodywork is in excellent condition with no issues with rust or paint imperfections. The underneath has had rustprotection including a Waxoyl application and in the last year the clutch has been replaced. The car is available to view in our showroom.
