eBay item #260150804276
Seller's description reads:
This auction is for a 1958 JAGUAR XK 150 fixed head coupe. Although cosmetically it looks at first glance a bit sad with the paint blistered and dead in places, when looked at carefully you can see that it is dead straight, and apart from a not great respray a few years ago, it has not been messed about with or bodged up. It is in exactly the right condition to restore( not a "barn find"), complete except for the clock and on the road in good running order. The engine makes good oil pressure even when hot, gears are good without any crunching or jumping, overdrive is fine, axle quiet and apart from a weeping rear caliper cylinder the brakes are good. It was fitted with new tyres 2 years ago after the wheels were blasted and painted mat black. As mentioned, the paint work is awful and would need completely redoing. All the chrome work is there although the photo shows it without the front windscreen chrome surround, which I do have but was not refitted after I had a new windscreen fitted. The tan interior is I think original except for having a new roof lining fitted. It would be possible to renovate the interior and save it. The running gear all needs rebushing as when driving there are various clunks when braking or cornering hard.Although I have an old V5 and the original buff coloured log book, the car is now registered on the Isle of Man and has a current log book so would be easy to reregister in the uk and having been originally registered in the UK all duties have been paid. The biggest problem is that as I now live in France so does the car, however, if sold I am willing to drive it to any French channel port for the cost of petrol and toll fees.
This is a great car that could be kept on the road as is or is the perfect starting place for a restoration. Ask any questions you like, the car is within an hour from Bergerac airport if you would like to check out Ryanair or Flybe. I have been a professional classic car restorer most of my life and although now retired I would be willing to restore the car in my workshop here in France at 25 euros/hour.
