This XK150, a right-hand drive fixed head, is the proverbial `barn find'. According to the copy of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust letter in the vehicle's documents file, S 824463 BW was manufactured in Coventry during June 1958. The 28 October dated letter signed by Chief Archivist Anders Ditlev Clausager also suggested that this information would be sufficient to obtain a UK registration mark with the year letter suffix appropriate to the year and gain acceptance in the `historic vehicle' taxation class.
As the precice cosmetic and mechanical state of this two-door auto in silver with red and black interior cannot be accurately ascertained by any cursory inspection, the currently unregistered project must be considered in the `for restoration' category. This said, however, a genuine, right-hand drive 150 coupe at the sort of price you might be able to land this one for could be a practical and potentially appreciating proposition for a successful bidder today.
PLEASE NOTE: We are sorry, but this lot is withdrawn.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
