    Car offered at:
    www.fenderbroad.com/cars-for-sale/jaguar-xk150-15ox.html

    Sellers description:
    Model: XK150
    Exterior Colour: BLACK
    Interior Colour: RED
    Reg Number: 15OX
    Year of Manufacture: JUNE 1959
    ENGINE NUMBER 13480V1647/8
    Engine Size: 3400
Transmission Type: 4 SPEED AND OVERDRIVE
    Number of Doors: 2
    CHASSIS NUMBER S824554

Registration '15OX' is a UK right hand drive XK150 that has had just 5 previous owners since first registered in the summer of 1959. We believe the car to be a matching numbers vehicle and there is a substantial history file and the green logbook plus V5's for the previous owners on file.

The restoration of an XK Jaguar is a substantial task requiring the very best coach building and restoration skills. Rarely if ever have we seen a car that has been so painstakingly restored by a fastidious owner who had to have everything 'just right'. Whilst we supplied much of the hardwear for this car you could be easily mistaken by thinking this was a Guy Broad restoration. It's that good!

There is a fully detailed and photographed history of the restoration of this car and 2 years after completion she presents extremely well. A testament to the restorer and owner who undertook the job. The panel fit and finish are excellent and the attention to detail is total

The owner has added some personal touches to the car and these can be seen in the pictures or discussed on the phone. Of note are the Turrino wire wheels which are a £3000+ upgrade on their own.

Mechanically the car is fully restored with a fresh rebuilt engine mated to 2" HD8 carbs and the original 4 speed and overdrive gearbox.

The car enjoys power steering from Vicarage and a full suite of appropriate upgrades to ensure this stunning XK is the perfect 'drive anywhere' grand tourer.

Impossible to cover everything on this car. If you are looking for the very very best XK150 FHC in stunning black and red then you have found it here.

You couldn't replicate this specification for £150k today. Sold with 12 month mechanical warranty

    Description from above auction:

    1959 Jaguar Model XK150

    Colour Black

    Odometer 1,358 Miles

    Engine size 3442

    Auction DetailsSeller Type Private

    Town Balsall Common

    Location West Midlands, United Kingdom

    Beautifully restored and subtly upgraded

    Limited mileage since restoration

    Valuable ‘150X’ private plate included

This particular example has been treated to an extensive restoration and has covered fewer than 1500 miles since. The work included some choice upgrades including a 3.8 litre engine, power steering and four pot front brakes. It remains in prime condition and is surely one of the best examples of the model. As a bonus, it comes with a valuable private plate; there are surely few better ways to join the exclusive club of XK150 owners.

    The History and Paperwork

    Registered 26th of August 1959

Comprehensively restored, thought to be between 2011 and 2015

Upgrades include a 3.8 litre engine, Vicarage power steering and four pot front disk brakes

    Just 1,358 miles covered since

Featured in Classic Cars magazine; photocopy of article included

Some invoices are also present, dating back to the eighties

Current owner keeps the car garaged and only uses it in the dry

V5 in owner’s name, still showing 3.4 litre capacity

Private plate ‘150X’ (15 OX) included

    MOT and tax exempt

    ULEZ compliant

    The Interior

    Walnut veneer dashboard

    Wood-rimmed steering wheel

    Red leather upholstery

    Lap belts for extra security

    Concealed battery charger connection

Swinging open the driver’s door really does provide a feast for the eyes. The red leather upholstery and walnut veneer dashboard conspire to produce a very enticing environment, and contrast beautifully with the inky black paintwork.

Slide inside and the lovely wood-rimmed steering wheel falls easily to hand and is a pleasure to grasp. The view over the long bonnet really is something to behold, while the interior details provide pleasant surprises with prolonged inspection. Tinted perspex visors, a wool headlining and a Ctek charger connection in the glove box are amongst the features to be found (and the charger is also provided).

Having covered limited mileage since the restoration, the condition remains excellent, though the attentions of a moth have left a small hole in the otherwise tight and clean headlining. That aside, the cabin shows very little wear since it left the restorer’s workshop.

Back in the boot, a collection of period tools and accessories can be found and are the perfect accompaniment to this fifties sports car.

    The Exterior

    Black paintwork in excellent order

Chrome work also very well preserved

    Leather bonnet straps

    Chrome luggage rack

    Chrome wire wheels

Presented in gleaming black, with gorgeous chrome work to match, the silhouette of the XK150 is sleek and elegant. Again testament to its limited time on the road, the paintwork remains in excellent condition and the chrome is similarly mirror-like. The bodywork also appeared to be free from any blemishes that we could see and the underside also looks to be very clean.

The chrome wire wheels wear Michelin tyres all round which all have good tread and the car also benefits from some carefully chosen enhancements including a period Jaguar Drivers’ Club badge on the grille and a chrome luggage rack at the rear.

In all, it’s a feast for the eyes and is sure to generate positive reactions wherever it goes.

    The Mechanics

Upgraded to a 3.8 litre straight six engine

Four speed manual transmission with overdrive

    Just serviced

    Rear wheel drive

Unbuckle the bonnet straps and open the bonnet and there is a very tidy engine bay on display. The condition in here belies the limited mileage that the car has covered since its restoration and, following its recent service, the owner tells us that it runs beautifully.

The power steering reportedly makes a real difference to the car’s ease of use and, while it’s clearly not like a modern car to drive, the powertrain is eager and responsive, and makes a gorgeous noise to boot. This really is a classic Jaguar that promises to be as good to drive as it is to look at.
