The Interior
Presented in very good condition
Bucket seats upholstered in green leather
Wooden dashboard and door sill covers
Smart carpeting and headlining
A later radio accompanies the car, but is not currently fitted
We adore how this Jaguar’s interior is upholstered in green to complement the paintwork. It’s in great condition too, accruing some gentle wear with use, but certainly nothing excessive.
The leather seats look fantastic and present really well. There’s hardly any wear to the bolsters besides some gentle sagging and we didn’t notice anything in the way of damage. We’re pleased to report that more modern Securon seat belts have been installed, which is a wise decision in a car of this vintage.
There’s not much wear to the carpeting either and the headlining looks to be in wonderful order. The door trims are smart, as is the inside of the capacious boot. As for the trim, all appears in fine condition, with smart woodwork adorning the dashboard and sill covers. The vendor informs us that all the instruments and switches work as they should, and they point out that a more modern DIN Clarion radio (complete with bracket) is supplied with the car for the next owner to install if they wish. We note that there are already speakers fitted to the rear parcel shelf.
The Exterior
Attractive green paintwork
‘Knock-off’ wire wheels painted in body colour
Very presentable chromework - including badge bar
With immensely smart bodywork and paint, this XK150 really looks the part and we’ve always admired the Coupé's elegant flowing lines. This example is finished in a fantastic colour scheme which looks perfect next to the chrome of the bumpers and various trim pieces.
It is very straight down the sides and we didn’t see any evidence of corrosion. The vendor points out a small finish crack to the inside of the passenger door pillar and slight marks in the paint above the boot lid and windscreen. Other than that, there are very few imperfections and the car continues to shine.
We’re informed that the underside was periodically wax treated which has clearly paid dividends as a quick inspection suggests it to still be in great order. The wire wheels are delightful and we like how the chromed spinners offset the body colour painted spokes - an aesthetic which looks distinctly motorsport-inspired to our eyes. All the tyres are said to be in good order with ample tread remaining.
The Mechanics
3.8-litre XK engine (replaced in 1982)
Four-speed manual gearbox
Equipped with electronic ignition, an alternator and hydraulic power steering, along with a more modern 12 volt electrical system with an electric fan
Around £4,000 has reportedly been spent on the renewal of various oil seals
At the heart of many a classic Jaguar lies the inimitable XK straight-six and this XK150 has it in 3.8-litre form. Replaced in 1982, this unit is said to be in really good mechanical order, running well with no issues to report. Everything presents really well under the bonnet and you can see the additional electronic fan which has been installed very neatly.
The electrical system is now a more modern 12 volt setup which apparently works well in conjunction with an alternator in place of the original dynamo. Around £4,000 has reportedly been spent on the renewal of various oil seals and we understand the car to be ready to drive, with its MOT until June 2024. Power steering makes manoeuvring far easier and the electronic ignition system is sure to help with starting and smooth running.

Seller's description:
Year: 1959
Chassis No: S 824872 DN
Engine No: V 6814-8
U.K. Registration No: XVR 513
Original RHD with overdrive.
Original Sherwood Green with Suede Green leather.
Excellent history
Upgraded with a 3.8 Litre block, Coopercraft disc brakes. Bucket seats.
This was a RHD model from new and fitted with overdrive (the DN in the chassis number signifies this). It has the optional bucket seats, wire wheels, and additionally has been fitted with an oil catch tank, a Kenlowe electric cooling fan (useful in traffic) and, unusually, power steering. This is the correct Jaguar power steering which makes the car a joy to drive on long rallies and tours. It has a 3.8 litre block and the original head.
It has a full history with a large file of maintenance history documents and photographs. The car is still in its original very attractive colour scheme of Sherwood Green with Suede Green Leather. It's very rare to find an original RHD car in such well maintained condition.
