After importing the XK150 to Australia in July 2011 from Chicago where it had been for around 12 years, we revitalized and restored a number of items. The white walled 6.50,16's Firestones were discarded, even though they were basically unused, but the wrong size should be 6.00.16's. A new crown wheel and pinion, straighten the axles and numerous electrical issues. Amazing now to not have diff whine accompaniment and to hear the great exhaust note which is a major incentive to get out on the highway and enjoy the experience.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
