    Auction description:
    16 November 2003 Cromwells
    Engine No: N842962P
    Chassis No: S827121DN.
This superb vehicle was despatched on 27th June 1958 to Henley’s, London and sold new to RS Bruce & Co in the UK, it was shipped to Australia and registered in NSW in 1985. It was Sydney owned by one owner for many years and underwent an extensive restoration from 1996 through to 2002. It is superbly presented in Carmen Red with black upholstery, carpet and roof is fitted with the Special Equipment extras including chrome wire wheels, fog lights, twin exhausts, and electric overdrive. It has a 3.8 litre 'S' Type engine with triple carburettors and 4 speed manual transmission. We are informed over $40,000 alone was invested in the body restoration by Tony Pallas, recent improvements include new water pump, ignition leads and overhauled front brake callipers. This car presents superbly and has full NSW registration to April 2004

I did some mechanical work on this car in 2002 for the then owner, Nathan Barker. It had been restored but was not as good as it sounds in the above ad! Gavin King - Concours Sportscar restoration www.concours.com.au

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
