Car offered at:
fenderbroad.com/cars-for-sale/jaguar-xk150.html

Sellers description:
Exterior Colour: Red
Interior Colour: Red
Reg. Number: 5 DRO
Transmission type: 4 speed & overdrive
Year of Manufacture: 1958
Chassis number: S827137DN
Engine number: V4531-8
Engine Size: 3400cc

The 150dhc presents the perfect 1950's grand touring machine and this car represents a magnificent example of this very desirable car.

According to the original buff logbook on file and confirmed by the Heritage Certificate this car was registered in Hertfordshire as 5DRO on the 14th of July 1958. The car was owned by a Norwegian lady based in Edinburgh for much of 1970's and 80's and she took the car to Norway. There it was restored and this photographic evidence of this is also within the substantial file.

Presented in red with red leather trim the car has its original engine and gearbox and is a 'matching numbers' car that retains 5DRO as its registration.

I collected this car from a long standing Norwegian customer and drove the car 1300 miles back around Europe back to the UK. It is fair to say that I have a 'very good' knowledge of this car. The drive through Norway, Denmark, Germany, Holland, Belgium and France back to the UK was simply a delight. I have always described these cars as 'grand tourers' and this car is exactly that. Happy sprinting down the autobahn at 90mph, meandering through empty European roads or working its way through big city traffic 5DRO behaved impeccably. Top down and up or with the rear window zipped out this car keeps giving willingly. The gearbox operates perfectly as does the overdrive. The engine is free revving keeps great oil pressure and doesn't overheat. It doesn't have a kenlowe fan which is pretty much unheard of in the UK. The car doesn't overheat or strees in anyway.

Driving this car around Europe was one of my 'life' experiences and I cannot talk highly enough about 5DRO

Presented for sale in first class structural and mechanical condition this is an older restoration that does great credit to the experts who performed the work some 20years ago.

Sold 'on the button' with matching numbers, great history and with a 12month engine warranty. 5DRO is a Jaguar XK jewel

UK-delivered 150 DHC with original buff log book and matching numbers
Restored around 20 years ago in Norway but remains superbly presented with a lovely patina
UK cars made up only 5% of total XK150 production. An exciting opportunity to acquire a rare car with lots of history
Very highly regarded by marque experts. 5 DRO is a Jaguar XK jewel

According to the original buff logbook in the owner's file and confirmed by the accompanying Heritage Certificate, this car was registered in Hertfordshire as '5 DRO' on the 14th of July 1958. It was finished in Carmen Red with a Red Leather interior, red carpets and a black mohair hood, and was fitted with overdrive, chrome wire wheels, and driving lamps. The car was owned by a Norwegian lady based in Edinburgh for much of the 1970s and 80s and when she finally returned to Norway, she took her beloved Jaguar with her. At some point later, the decision was taken to fully restore the XK and there is photographic evidence of this within the substantial file.

It remains presented in gleaming Red with red leather and retains its original engine and gearbox thereby qualifying as a 'matching numbers' car. Pleasingly, it still proudly sports its original UK registration, '5 DRO'.

Our vendor, a very well known Jaguar expert, collected this car from a long-standing Norwegian contact and drove it over 1,300 miles around Europe taking the long way back to the UK last year. He has driven hundreds of classic Jaguars and dozens of XKs over the years but regards driving this car around Europe as one of his best "life experiences" and he cannot talk highly enough about '5 DRO'. He reports that "the gearbox operates as it should, as does the overdrive. The engine is free revving and behaved impeccably". It's not fitted with a 'Kenlowe' fan, which is pretty much unheard of in the UK, but he informs us that, during that long trip, the car didn't overheat or stress in any way.

Presented for sale in superb condition and with a lovely patina, this is an older restoration the quality of which is still evident today and does great credit to the craftsmen responsible some 20 years ago.

Original UK cars made up only 5% of total XK150 production and this is an exciting opportunity to acquire a rare, right-hand drive, matching numbers car with great history. '5 DRO' is a Jaguar XK jewel and not to be missed.
