Seller's description:
Interior & Equipment
The original interior was subject to an extensive re-trim by Suffolk & Turner in the summer of 2000. Works included complete re-trim of the optional bucket leather seats, new carpets throughout in the original specification light blue.
The supple silver grey leather piped in navy retains an unblemished appearance with a lovely factory finish. The seat bases show no signs of wear, matching door cards with immaculate chrome, rear seats and leather centre arm rest all unmarked. The light blue carpets piped in grey present well. The leather trimmed dashboard piped in navy and silver grey facia all unmarked with exceptional attention to detail. All interior lighting, crystal clear Smiths gauges, switches and electrics work as they should. A wood rim Mota-Lita steering wheel with original Jaguar boss completes this stunning interior.
The best driving model of the final iteration of the XK range in terms of comfort and leg-room... Perfect
Exterior
A full photographic restoration was carried in 2000 and painted in the original colour Jaguar Solid Indigo Blue. The paint finish and bodywork is still outstanding today with a uniformed deep gloss shine throughout, excellent panel fit, shut lines and gaps. The underside is solid throughout having been stripped and repainted.
'Originality' was key during the restoration, all original bright work replated throughout, original badges retained, original Lucas lighting all round with the exception of better performing new halogen headlights with J detailing. All original unmarked Triplex side windows.
A new correct factory specification blue mohair hood fitted with new chroming and new wood to the front, middle and rear. The hood opens and closes with ease and fits perfectly. A brand new mohair hood envelope compliments the drophead coupe... Wonderful
Standard Equipment
Leather Padded Instrument Panel, Gauges for Speed, Rev Counter, Fuel, Oil Pressure, Ammeter and Water Temperature, Wind Up Windows, Door Ashtrays, Cigar Lighter, Locking Glove Box, Dunlop Disc Brakes All Round.
Additional Equipment
5-Speed Manual Gearbox, Power Steering, Uprated Cooling System, Uprated Brakes, USB Ports, Lucas Fog Lamps, Bucket Front Seats
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
The 60 spoke chrome wire wheels and chrome spinners are in fantastic order. All matching period quality Michelin Pilote X tyres 6. 00-16 have plenty of tread remaining.
The XK150 is the first production vehicle to be fully equipped with Dunlop disc brakes front and rear. The brake system has been completely overhauled giving the car excellent braking feel and capability. All new brake lines, uprated front 4-pot calipers and new discs all round.
Engine & Transmission
The fully detailed engine and engine bay houses the incredible 3. 4 twin-cam straight six cylinder engine with B spec head which has been subject to an extensive photographic rebuild using many new parts, completed in 2000 and has covered a mere 11k miles since.
The original factory fit 4-speed manual gearbox has been uprated to a 5-speed manual for modern use enabling this cult classic to easily maintain motorway speeds on today's roads. A full service has just been completed, carbs and timing set needless to say she runs perfectly hot or cold and sounds tremendous through the full stainless steel exhaust system. The clutch is light and progressive in operation, gear change positive and precise... A joy to drive and what a sound track
