    JAGUAR XK150 "S" DROPHEAD COUPE (DHC) 3400cc 1 OF 19 RHD EXAMPLES

This Jaguar XK 150 S DHC is featured in a number of magazine articles and was selected for the front cover of Phillip Porter’s definitive book “Jaguar XK Restorer’s Guide” due to its originality and condition.

Presented in its original colour of Carmen Red with matching interior and a mohair lined hood. OTL 151 is 1 of only 19 UK right hand drive 3.4 XK 150"S" DHC ‘s produced, which makes it a very rare car indeed.

First registered on the15th May 1959, its first owner kept the car a short while before it was purchased by MR A W Taylor of Surrey from a London Sports Car Specialist in late 1960. Mr Taylor used the car as a dry weather weekend car. The car was maintained on a regular basis and kept in dry storage, joining a number of other Jaguars in his private collection. Incredibly the car stayed in the ownership of the Taylor family for a total of 37 years before being purchased by Lynx Motors international.

The car was then sold to the current owner in 2005, for the purpose of competing in the 2005 Rallye des Alpes, an event for pre 1960s cars. The engine required an overhaul and was sent to Sigma Engineering who re-built it to fast road specification. In 2008, the original Moss gear box was repaired by Jaguar specialists, Twyford Moors, using the correct Moss box parts.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
