Regarding the 150s, the "S" in front of chassis numbers, INCREDIBLY does NOT mean a Special Equipment model,
as example
like in 120s, where the "S" denotes a Special Equipment model.

Sorry Ferruccio, but the "S" prefix to S830211 DOES denote a "Special Equipment" model as the XK150 was introduced and intended to be marketed, denoting fitment of all the Special Equipment option package of Wire Wheels, "B-type" head, twin exhaust etc, and . Jaguar did also list a "Standard" model with disc-wheels, wheel covers and "A-type" head with no prefix to the 8xxxxx chassis number, but it is unlikely any were ever actually sold in this "standard" specification. You are of course confusing this with the later "S" specification as in XK150"S" which provided an upgraded triple HD8 carburetter straight-port head, initially still retaining just an "S" prefix to the chassis number, but then adopting a "T" prefix to differentiate from the "Special Equipment" model

Hi Roger, it anyway seems that you are telling that I am right about my concept of "S" regarding 150s, as they were never sold in normal equipment, so every 150 was "S"on chassis even with the lower power available, so for that I mean that
they are "normal" even if "S"in front of chassis numbers. Please take a note that I am talking about chassis numbers, and 150 "S" have different engine numbers and different chassis numbers, except initially ?
BUT THE BIGGEST PROBLEM at the moment is that I bought THIS CAR, S 830211 , I have a BIll of Sale, a Title of Australia, but the car is not still in my hands! I have a Bill of Lading also, and I am investigating about shipping from Australia to Italy . . .

Ferrucio, what happened with this car.

S830211

is being offered for sale again in Batam City, Indonesia by a guy calling himself 'Ardy'

but the photos he sent are clearly shot in the USA as one of them has a Wonder Bread truct driving past in the background. So very fishy. it also looks like the id plate has been photoshopped with a '1' at the end being duplicated.. Also S830212 has been advertised for sale in Indonesia as well, suggesting the same guy trying to scam!

Any ideas anyone?

I have seen this advertised and enquired about the car - a chap called Ardy emailed me back and sent pictures.
All USA pictures of the car and he wants 5000 USD for the car - so I decided to use this forum to see about the chassis numbers - and the comments above.......it looks like a chap from Italy owns it!!!! but has not got it!!!
He quotes "The car price is 5,000 USD. And the car located in Batam Island,Indonesia the nearest island from Singapore."
I think I will use the old adage - if it's too good to be true - IT IS........

This car is advertised in the Classified ads of Jag Lovers and has an asking price of $15,000. usd. The pictures shown are from the US, but the car is located in Singapore . The reply to my Email with pictures says the car was submerged. The ID plate looks genuine but the why does it have the incorrect engine number
The engine number for this car is shown as V-6258-8 on the data plate however 830211 should have V-3457-8
The message comes from a chap called Andre.
Something very fishy here, buyer beware.

After further investigating, it seems the seller has taken engine, body and gearbox numbers from S-838005.A very nice LHD DHC a January 1959 car.

Jag Lovers Classified Ad is a scam.
