This particular car is a genuine matching-numbers S that was completed on the 4th of June 1958. It has been restored in its original color combination of British Racing Green with biscuit interior and sand top and was sold new in New York. It eventually found its way to Vero Beach, Florida. In the early 1970s, the car was taken to a shop to have some work done but the owner got a divorce and the car ended up sitting under a tarp for approximately ten years. In approximately 1984, its most recent owner succeeded in purchasing the car and set about restoring it, a process that included the renewal of the paint, chrome, some of the interior, some of the instruments, and most of the mechanical systems including the engine, transmission, overdrive, clutch, suspension, and brakes. The car was fitted with a more reliable plunger in the overdrive and electronic ignition but was not modified in any other way. The dog leg by the rear fenders, passenger's floor, and trunk floor were replaced when the body was restored as well.

The car has a straight body but the preparation work was not done correctly prior to being painted and there are numerous blemishes including bridging, bubbling (of the paint, not from corrosion), and a few chips and cracks as well. The brightwork is in good condition with light pitting and a thin spot on the rear bumper. The lights and glazing are good with Lucas headlamps. The top is canvas and is in good condition.

The interior is very good condition with excellent seats which appear to have been done very recently. The remainder of the upholstery is less recent but is in very nice condition. The carpets are similarly nice although the heel pad on the driver's side shows some wear. The instruments and switches are in good physical condition, as is the steering wheel which has very fine hairline cracks in selected areas.

The engine compartment is in similar condition to the rest of the car, and is in nice driver condition but not highly detailed. It appears generally correct and the triple SU carburetors are in place. There is typical deterioration to the paint finish on the exhaust manifolds. The trunk was correctly retrimmed including the underside of the trunk lid and is very nice. The jack and grease gun are in place as well.

The car comes with a copy of a Heritage Certificate confirming that it is matching numbers. It also mentions that the car was originally equipped with close ratio gearbox. There is also a handbook and a spare cylinder head, which is matching to the car, although the head currently installed is stamped with the same number.

This is a rare and genuine matching numbers 3.4 liter XK150S roadster that has been restored in its desirable original color combination. It drives well and can be enjoyed as-is as a guilt-free event car or tourer, or could be taken as an excellent base on which to improve the exterior cosmetic presentation with new paint.
