Most desirable of the XK150 range is the "S" Roadster, which is what we have here. This rare car was supplied to Jaguar Cars, New York, in August 1958, leaving Browns Lane on American Independence Day 1958. The car was originally cream with black interior and was a 3.4 "S" equipped with a, Racing Spec, louvered alloy bonnet. There is little early history but the car was supplied in California, where it remained until export to the UK in 2004.

Though in need of restoration, the car was actually being used in 2005. It starts, runs, drives and stops but is now without the triple carb, "S" set up. With the exception of this and some alterations carried out to the rear of the cockpit, the car is in very original condition and offers a rare opportunity to restore and specify to your own tastes.

There is a statement from the last Californian owner, in 2004, which states that he acquired the car in 1975, from the original owner. The statement also comments on the fact that the original owner raced the car at Laguna Seca raceway, which is why it was specified with an alloy, louvered bonnet. If the ownership statement is true, it means that the vendor is the 3rd owner.

This is a rare opportunity.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
