An Important Auction of British and Continental Sports & Touring Cars and Collectors Items
Saturday 13th January 2007
Lot 139
1958 Jaguar XK150 'S' 3.4 Litre Roadster
Registration no: Dutch Registered
Chassis no: S831214DN
Estimate: €60,000-80,000
Produced in 1958 this XK150 is a desirable 'S' model that has benefited from a full restoration to concours condition in the early nineties. The car was originally delivered to New York on 12th September 1958. The car has been with the present owner since 1995 and has been maintained to the highest standards by a well known Jaguar specialist in Holland. As you would expect the car is in excellent condition and with only 11,500 recorded miles. According to the vendor the car won the Benson and Hedges concours in the UK prior to it coming to Holland. The car is finished in red with a black leather interior, all of which are in good condition. As with all 'S' models the engine is fitted with triple SU carburettors with straight port C type cylinder head and a higher compression delivering 250 bhp! Power is fed through a smooth four speed manual box fitted with overdrive which is reported to be in excellent condition.
The car is fitted with a Kenlowe fan for modern city driving, an alarm system for peace of mind, a fire extinguisher, tonneau and garage cover and a Nardi steering wheel.
The car comes complete with a Heritage Trust Certificate and Dutch registration papers and APK. This is comparatively rare, original 3.4 'S' Roadster of which only 880 examples were produced. Testament to the condition of the car is a recent article in Dutch car magazine 'Carros'.
