    Sellers description:
    1959 RED XK150 JAGUAR ROADSTER

THE CAR BEING OFFERED IS A VERY ORIGINAL DOCUMENTED LOW MILE MATCHING NUMBERS 1959 RED XK150 Roadster with only 51,500 original miles. The chassis number, body number, engine, head and transmission all match the numbers stamped into the data ID plate, and is confirmed by the Jaguar Heritage certificate which will be included with the car. The car includes the original ID plate which is mounted underneath the newer stamped plate; which also matches all of the other numbers.

The XK150 is MY OWN personal car that I have owned for over 20 years. I purchased this car years ago due to its originality and low miles. When I first purchased this XK150, the original tires were even still on the car.

The restoration on the car has been done over the years as I continued to enjoy driving and showing it, and I've continued to keep it looking and driving like new. Although I have detailed and restored parts of the car over the years, the car is still very original. Most of the interior is still original, and the trunk area is all original including the paint, fabric, tools, spare wheel, etc.; these areas are in remarkable condition for a 52 year old car. All of the sheet metal on the car is also all original; the car has never been in an accident or experienced rust. The engine was completely rebuilt last year by a premiere engine rebuilder (Kenny) that does nothing but rebuild high performance engines for classic cars. Kenny's been doing it for many years and has extensive experience with vintage Jaguars - see photo of Kenny in his engine shop. He is available to answer any questions in regard to what he did on my car. A new clutch was also put in last year while the engine was out. While I had the engine out, I also took the opportunity to freshen up the engine bay. The Transmission was also inspected and any parts that showed excessive wear were replaced; this was done a few years ago when I pulled the engine to detail the engine bay.

The interior is mostly original, including the dash and door panels, it all still looks new. The dash center console was re-dyed. I replaced the dash top piece leather, the original carpeting, and the seat covers. I always use the correct original material originally specified by Jaguar. I have never stepped on the new carpeting so it still looks like it was replaced yesterday; I've always used two sets of floor mats on top of it to keep it in new condition; one set for show and the other set for driving. I believe the top, which is in good condition, is the original top. The top frame is also all original and in great condition. The paint, which is the correct original Carmen Red for this car is very nice; the entire exterior is color sanded and buffed for a brilliant appearance. The Chrome is very nice; some of it still original. The wheels are Dayton Stainless Steel Wire wheels and look beautiful. The tires are like new and not very old. I replaced the original tires when I first purchased the car but more recently one needed to be replaced and I chose to replace all of them.

The car includes the original tonneau cover, which is in nice shape for its age, and a new tonneau cover that is seen in the photos. I also have a custom made bra which I use anytime I drive on the highway to keep the front from obtaining any chips.

The exhaust on the car includes custom made mufflers that were designed and built by a fellow that produced exhaust systems for high performance race cars. So the car has a roar to it that is like no other Jaguar; it sounds sweat and gives it a little attitude.

There are many other components that are new or were rebuilt, as one usually does when restoring a car (suspension, fuel system, new radiator, brakes, rubber, windshield, starter, hoses, belts, electrical, carburetors, clutch, etc. etc.).

All components and work done was per original Jaguar specifications except for a few modifications that were done to enhance the cars performance (etc. - updated sound system).

The car is well documented, including the Jaguar Heritage Certificate. I have detailed documentation of the complete history on the car from when it was purchased new including all previous owners, receipts from completed restoration, and many photographs. I also have the original operating manual that came with the car when it was new, extra keys, and the original key fob. I am the fourth owner from new. The first owner died early in life and the car sat in storage for many years. The second owner owned the car for 9 years and was forced to sell it due to poor health, and the third owner sold it due to his wife wanting something newer with AC, power steering, etc. He only owned it for 2 years. The car spent its entire life in Wisconsin until I purchased it and brought it to Minnesota. It has always been used as a pleasure vehicle in the summer time and/or used mostly for show; this explains its low miles and the fact that it's so original and clean.

Overall, the car is a beautiful exciting sports car, combining speed with style. In the past 20 years I've put less than 10,000 miles on the car.
