The 3.4L roadster we are presenting is a Special Equipment version (originally 210bhp engine instead of 190) left the factory on 15 December 1958. It was sold new on the following 29 December by Jaguar Cars in New York (the registration document mentions a first registration on 00/00/1960). The body was then in a desirable Cotswold Blue color with matching soft top and white upholstery, as confirmed by the Jaguar Heritage sheet. We then trace it back to 1986 when it was registered in France and displayed 55,422 miles on the odometer. At this time, much was done on it, including the replacement of the 3.4L engine, as seen by an invoice. The engine consists of a block coming from a Jaguar 340, and the famous Straight Port cylinder head with 3 carburetors, as used in the Jaguar XK150 S and Type E. It is certainly in reference to this cylinder head that the badges reserved for the "S" versions were fixed on the doors. At the same time, other invoices testify the repair of the chrome and various upgrades. It was in August 1989 that our collector bought it from Classic Car in France. Since then, he has had a lot of fun driving this car, which he dreamed of when he drove a TR3! In 1990 a stainless-steel fuel tank was fitted, and in 2014 a substantial list of work was carried out to keep the car roadworthy in good condition. Finally, in 2019, the radiator was restored with replacement of the wiring harness. The car is in used condition, it bears the scars of a life of use, and while some will see it as a car in need of restoration, others will simply do a general overhaul preserving the story those wrinkles tell.
Estimation 50 000 - 70 000 €

Block from a Jag sedan as mentioned 7J51315-8, and a cyl. head from a 3.8 E type R-3261-9. Giving 265 HP. Nice combo.
