Current bid $4,000, no reserve, 6 bids, 4 days left in auction. 66k miles.

Sellers description:
XK150 FHC in need of restoration: the car has not run since the mid 1960's

I acquired this vehicle from a barn in Minnesotta as a father/son project. Five years later the son is in college and the father living his boy hood dream with an S-Type R so I need the garage space back.

This is a PROJECT car. The milage is genuine but the car has not run since it was parked in the barn in the mid 60's. It needs a complete frame off restoration. The car is complete: the photos' show that some parts are missing: I have these including the seats which as far as I can tell were the maternity wing for the majority of Minnesota's rodent population!

The car was manufactured in 1957 and first registered int he US in 1958

Body Condition: It has rust. It is in the base of both doors, though the door pillars are fine. On the left hand side there is a patch of heavy corrosion under the rear window that has intruded into the cab: I suspect that the barn had a leak. The battery box has gone but the other panels are sound with some of the original underseal still in place.

Title: I have the orginal MN title form the people I purchased it from and never got around to registering the car in PA as it never made it onto the road.

Sellers description:
Nice one...a 1957 Jaguar XK150 SE (rare "SE" special equipment option) coupe with quite low mileage (66,000+). It might be considered a 1958 but was built in June 1957, so I'm not sure which year to call it; BUT..from research I have found out that it was a VERY early XK 150, #228 off of the assembly line! 978 were made in 1957 and a total of 3078 fhc (fixed head coupes) were made. I do not know from my research how many SE's were made but it must be pretty rare and certainly more valuable!

I bought the car a few years ago , it was stored since 1964 ! That is why it has such low mileage. My family mechanic got the car running about a year ago, it hadn't been touched since the 1960s! It ran decently but noisy from deteriorated exhaust(have a complete new exhaust included). Our goal was just to get it running to make sure that it could run and that it was a good engine...and it is! I remember that we ran it for about 15 minutes and that the oil pressure was excellent!

I have since bought and bought and bought nearly every part I could think of to restore this car, for example...new dual exhaust system(still in box as delivered), all tune up bits, all filters, master &/or clutch cyl. , all new rubber and felt for doors and windows, new metal pan for trunk bottom (only need part of it for some rust along lowest ridge in the tire pan), precision fabricated door bottom pieces (specialist in Calif),battery door/cover and a few other pieces, new chromed door sill plates(gives a beautiful look), and so many more things that I can not remember over the past years. I have every piece of ephemera, sales literature, manuals, parts book, etc. relating to the Jaguar xk150!

I just do not have the energy like I did 25 years ago to do this or any help to restore the car so that is why I am going to sell it.

One of the best attributes of this car is the nice original red leather interior, nice seats, beautiful red & silver padded lather dash and door panels (I haven't even cleaned the dash and doorpanels- they looks so nice now, they will look beautiful when cleaned! Headliner is snug and in proper place but has a few holes here and there that can be sewn in if you don't want to replace it( I was going to patch it with matching old headliner material- I like originality when possible!). carpet is all original but tired (I put the black embroidered "XK150" mats so that it does look presentable); The trunk is nice with all of its original red liners! Trunk latch needs a new cable(regular bicycle type cable).

Body is VERY straight and the black paint can shine to look just about "presentable" (I will have someone come and polish it before you have it picked up) But, it has those spots of paint loss/dents in front to fix (very easy repair to patch and repaint to keep the old paint as a driver) The dusty photos that you see are before washing it showing off that the good old dust & spiderwebs as it arrived! The second area to fix is the thin line where roof meets fender (see picture. also pretty basic fix) The doors are solid -bottoms of the doors were needing so I ordered precision made door bottom panels for easy installation(so you'll have a good all metal repair) The underbody is as would be expected scally and needs to be wire brushed and por treated or rustoleum black. Frame is solid. The wooden floors are in excellent solid condition. A very solid car, but of course needing some restoration. I have watched the XK's over the past few years and just do not find them better than this as unrestored "barn finds". This one sitting for about 45 years! But we know that we have a relatively solid car with a good engine, it is a RARE "XK150 SE" "special equipment model", a very early one at that - being #228

Sellers description:
1957 JAGUAR XK150 SE FHC
$21900

The car has been stored in a single-car garage on Long Island since 1964. Due to the economy, the owner decided to liquidate a number of his vehicles. Because this car was only driven for 6 years before being stored, this XK150 SE fixed head coupe comes to us very complete, with low miles, and a nicely intact interior. Built in June 1957, this is a very early XK 150, #228 off of the assembly line. 978 were made in 1957 and 4445 fixed head coupes were made in total.

This 3.4L straight six engine last ran in 2007. The oil pressure gauge was reported as excellent, but we have not verified this yet. The car comes with a new stainless steel exhaust still in the box. The SE engine has a modified cylinder head with larger exhaust valves rated at 210 bhp at 5500 rpm with twin 1.75-inch SU HD6 carburetors.

The previous owner started to amass parts for the car to begin his own restoration. All of these parts are included with the sale of the car. Included with the car: new exhaust system, tune up kit, all filters, brake master cylinder, clutch master cylinder, all new rubber and felt for doors and windows, engine hoses, new metal pan for trunk bottom, panels for door bottom, battery cover, new chromed door sill plates. Also includes, sales literature, manuals, and parts book.

The interior is complete and very presentable. The original red leather seats show minimal wear. The headliner shows no sagging, but it does have a few holes. The carpet is all original but tired. The trunk is very presentable with all of its original red liners. Trunk latch needs a new cable.

Body is VERY straight and the black paint is "presentable". There is a thin rust line where roof meets the rear right fender. The doors are solid - bottoms need attention - panels included. Frame is solid. The original wood floors and metal access panels are in excellent solid condition! A very solid car that could be driven as is, or would make an excellent starting point for a restoration.
