This 1959 Jaguar XK150 is a left-hand drive fixed head coupe that is finished in black over a red interior and powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include factory 16″ wire-spoke knock-off wheels, polished trim, a driver-side mirror, Smiths gauges, and a factory four-spoke steering wheel. The car was acquired by the seller in 2018 after it spent an extended period of time in storage. This XK150 project is offered with a BAS Jaguar Limited interior kit consisting of rebuilt and reupholstered seats, retrimmed dash fascia and top panels, wood interior trim, and replacement rubber weather seals as well as a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The exterior wears faded black paintwork and features polished trim, a driver-side mirror, a full-width front bumper, and interior vent doors in each fender. A variety of parts are included in the sale including tail lights, a front bumper, overriders, exterior trim pieces, and a replacement rubber seal kit. The seller notes that the rear bumper is no longer with the car, and various areas of body damage and corrosion can be seen.
The car sits on 16″ wire-spoke knock-off wheels wearing Firestone tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel disc brakes. The brake calipers have been removed and are included in the sale.
The factory interior features red upholstery on the seats along with matching door panels, carpets, and dashboard trim. Equipment includes dual gloveboxes, a rearview mirror, and a passenger grab handle. A BAS Jaguar Limited interior kit will accompany the car and includes reupholstered seats with powder-coated seat frames, interior wood components, retrimmed dash facia panels, and a replacement carpet set and headliner.
The factory four-spoke steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 33k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter inline-six features dual SU carburetors, aluminum valve covers, and was factory rated at 160 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Borg-Warner three-speed automatic transmission. Underside corrosion is present and can be seen.
Engine number V1698-8 shown above is stamped in the cylinder head and matches the chassis plate.
