Sellers description:
This is a very solid example of a 150. I have ownership records dating back to 1969 in California, then up here to Washington. It has been garaged in a dry space for the last 28 years that I know of, and driven often, daily for a time. It fires to life right away, and I now run it around occasionally just for fun. It runs, drives, and brakes quite well. Chassis# S834820BW Body# J7959 Engine# V2165-8 Auto Trans# 12903-15 PAINT: I was told it was originally white, with a respray in dark blue some time in the past. It's lost it's luster, but it's doing it's job protecting the body. GLASS: All the glass is good and the door windows work as they should. The rubber seals are weathered and some chrome trim is missing off the rear window seal. BODY: There is some very limited rust which I have shown the best I can in the pictures. The door posts are good and there is no door sag - the doors close as they should. The panels are very straight with a few tiny dings, and a rust through spot ahead of left rear wheel well. The bumpers are all in good shape with, again, minor surface corrosion. There are some holes drilled in the front fenders along side the hood to accommodate a hood hold-down strap. The car sits level, with no apparent sags or leans. INTERIOR: The dash is nice, with most the gages working. It has a wood rimmed steering wheel with a Jaguar crest in the center. Some of the interior panels are out of it, but I have them. The seats don't have any rips. There's no carpeting. The headliner is going around the lower rear edges. All the trim is there. DRIVETRAIN: The 3.4 liter engine is very strong and always starts right up if you don't flood it. It runs clean after an initial little blue if its been sitting a long time. There is some indication that it was rebuilt when in California, but I don't have any details. The 2-speed Borg-Warner auto tranny doesn't have a good reputation, and this one is no different. It's kinda clunky, and slips when cold, but it will propel the 150 along at freeway speeds very easily. It has a recently rebuilt radiator and waterpump because they were leaking. The brakes were rebuilt by previous owner with all new cylinders and they work great, with a slight pull to one side. The white wall tires have few miles on them. Yes, those are knock-offs. This is a great car for a Jag lover. For someone who is not familiar with old car idiosyncrasies, it is not. It is a low mile, honest car that could quite easily be brought back to it's full buff glory, or driven as is with some attention for a long time
