1958 Fixed Head Coupe. It began its life with a Borg-Warner automatic transmission but has been changed to the more desirable and satisfying 4-speed manual transmission. It has been professionally and sympathetically restored to showroom condition without going overboard and turning the car into a trailer queen and everything has been done to very high standards, even the supporting documentation and accessories which include its books, manuals and knockoff hammer. Lot 323
1958 Jaguar XK150 3.4-Liter Fixed Head Coupé
Chassis no. S834923BW
Engine no. V2326-8
Body no. J 8068
-Delivered new to the US
-Nicely restored and presented
-Converted to a desirable manual transmission
-Certified by the Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust
-A thoroughly modern vintage sportscar
An American car from new, the offered XK150 was delivered new by Jaguar Cars of New York to one E W Overstreet of Los Angeles. Uniquely distributed directly by the manufacturer, the sleek coupe was originally trimmed in Cotswold Blue with matching Dark Blue hides, an automatic transmission and the full Special Equipment package that included dual fog lights, dual exhaust, a set of five wire wheels, dual exterior fender mirrors, and windshield washers--the latter package it still carries today. Further history on the car was unknown at press time beyond the fact that by 2009 the car had been restored to its current Carmen Red over tan hides color scheme and the old automatic transmission had been replaced with a more desirable correct specification 4-speed manual.
Acquired by the vendor in January 2010, the Jag has been sympathetically maintained and enjoyed. Showing well today, a ride in the car at speed demonstrated its mechanical acumen and smooth running. Complete with a complete tool roll, Jaguar spares catalog, and Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, this nicely presented XK150 is the perfect ride in which to tear up back country lanes.
Estimate:
US$ 50,000 - 70,000

Produced in Jaguar's Coventry workshops on December 16, 1957, this Left-Hand Drive XK150 Fixed Head Coupe was dispatched to the United States shortly thereafter and delivered new by Jaguar Cars of New York to one E W Overstreet of Los Angeles. Uniquely distributed directly by the manufacturer, the sleek coupe was originally trimmed in Cotswold Blue with matching Dark Blue hides, an automatic transmission and the full Special Equipment package that included dual fog lights, dual exhaust, a set of five wire wheels, dual exterior fender mirrors, and windshield washers—the latter package it still carries today. Further history on the car was unknown at press time beyond the fact that by 2009 the car had been restored to its current Carmen Red over Biscuit hides color scheme and the old automatic transmission had been replaced with a more desirable correct specification 4-speed manual.
This XK150 is nicely equipped, presents very well in both mechanical and aesthetic appearance, while featuring attractive brightwork throughout. Known for being one of the more spacious classic Jaguar models, the Fixed Head Coupe is a wonderful choice for drivers with a larger frame. With copious amounts of legroom complemented by a back 'jump' seat and a large trunk area, the XK150 is a very well-suited choice for travelling on vintage driving rallies such as the Copperstate 1000. Included with the car is an owner's manual, Heritage Certificate, jack, grease gun, photos and electrical information. Recently serviced and prepared for road use, this vehicle is ready to be driven, enjoyed, as well as being shown at your local concours or JCNA event.

Broad Arrow Auctions - Monterey Jet Center Auction 2022
Auction description:
Chassis No. S834923BW
Engine No. V2326-8
Delivered by Jaguar Cars, New York, to EW Overstreet of Los Angeles, California in January 1958 this XK150 was originally trimmed in Cotswold Blue with matching Dark Blue hides and equipped with a Borg-Warner three-speed automatic transmission. It was later restored in period correct Carmen Red with Biscuit hides and upgraded to a correct type four-speed transmission.
Its "S" chassis number prefix indicates that this XK150 was equipped as a "Special Equipment Model." This sought-after model featured a special "B" type cylinder head, with twin SU H.D.6 carburetors, Dunlop single pair pad disc brakes with servo assistance, chrome wire wheels with center-lock "knock-off" hubs, dual exhaust system, and windshield washers. The engine upgrades of a B "blue top" cylinder head and larger exhaust valves increased available horsepower to 210 from the standard 190 hp.
This finely restored example of Jaguar's third and final incarnation of the original XK concept is finished in lovely period colors and with an elegantly appointed interior. It is accompanied by an Operating Handbook, knock-off hammer, jack, grease gun, and trunk-mounted spare wheel along with a copy of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate confirming the original build details.
