Possible clash of numbers with a car in Switzerland listed to Paul Detlef with this engine number which fits this chassis

    Sellers description:
This is a used late 1950's Jaguar XK 150 Rolling Chassis with Engine and transmission. There is not a VIN number on this chassis but there is a chassis number which we put in the VIN section since you have to have a number present. The engine is marked Jaguar 3 1/2 ltr. The valve covers are missing but we were told that the car was stored indoors. Nonetheless the engine does not turn over freely. The engine should be rebuilt. The transmission does seem to shift but we are not sure if it actually functions correctly. The chassis is in fairly good shape and if you are restoring and XK 150 and need parts or a better condition chassis this may be a good deal for you. The Lucas generator and starter are on the car as well. There is a fuel pump along the rail as well. The Chrome bumpers are still on the car and not too bad. The painted wire wheels are not bad and the front knock offs are attached but the rear knock offs have their "ears" sawn off and have a hole in the center. Buyer responsible for any shipping charges or arranging pick up of the vehicle. Please contact with any questions prior to bidding. I have added the numbers off the block, both numbers from the head and the chassis number. The XK 150 Jaguar values have gone through the roof so if you are looking for a period correct chassis or engine and transmission parts now is your chance.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
