Ebay item 7/30/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1959-Jaguar-XK150-FHC-/200799758829
Car has a buy it now price of $65,000 for 6 days.
Sellers description:
Matching chassis no. S5835082 and engine no. V 2520-8 fixed head coupe in original black over red interior. Actual mileage is unknown but hardly matters as most everything has been rebuilt or replaced.
History since purchase:
After purchase in September 2005 from Northside Sportscar in Lake Bluff, Illinois for $29,995, a 5-year restoration to a very high level "driver" standard was undertaken. The interior and trunk areas were completely stripped as was the engine compartment save for the engine, which was not removed. The underside of the car was also completely stripped save for the gearbox. The engine and gearbox were left in the car as both were in very good working order. The engine was reported by Northside to have been rebuilt approximately 6k miles prior to purchase. Also, the car had received a new clutch assembly by Northside prior to the current owner's purchase.
After stripping the car as noted above, all the compartments as well as the underside/chassis/fender wells were meticulously cleaned of all glue, dirt, grease and road dirt. Only surface rust was encountered in that process and was treated first with rust converter, than painted with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator before being over coated with Eastwood Chassis Black. Both wood floorboards were replaced with new parts from XK Unlimited ("XK") and resealed. The transmission cowl was cleaned and painted and the underside was covered with an expensive zero clearance aluminized heat shield product. The spare tire well and the cover above the rearend were removed, painted and resealed. The aforementioned heat shield was also applied to the cockpit side of the fire wall. Radiant heat transfer to the cockpit was eliminated. While cosmetic appearance was a priority, the primary emphasis was placed on the suspension, brakes and driveline in order to achieve a solid and reliable driver.

SUMMARY:
This 150 was restored with drivability in mind but the need to make it a head-turner was not overlooked. The shiny black finish with the dark red grill and interior make it stand out in a crowd of similar era cars. The heavy 150 bumpers were left off the car to give it a sportier/rally look; however, the original bumpers, overrides', and new body boots come with the sale as do the original radiator, distributor, and air cleaner assembly for those that want to have it bone stock. This is not a concours restoration but it is a very high level driver with no excuses in the latter regard. The car is meant to be driven proudly.

This rare survivor was, in addition, completely restored by its previous owner of 9 years. Stored in a climate controlled environment and to my knowledge, having loving owners, has not been in the rain since restoration. The car includes additional parts (below), documentation and receipts of restoration/services as well as affidavit and overview of restoration.
The car is on display on the dealerships showroom floor. She of course gets far more attention than any of the exotics on display . . . regardless of make or price point.
Records and receipts include restoration documentation with previous owners vested costs for same as well as a letter of Affidavit re complete restoration to include, but not limited to: Complete body restoration - Refinish to bare metal, new: Rubber, Chrome, Full leather interior, original period Carpets, Complete mechanical restoration of Engine, Transmission, clutch, full brake and suspension. She's exudes perfection right down to the period correct details. Previous owner removed heavier original bumpers and installed "rally" style additions. Original chrome bumpers are with the car
This is a rare find and there are no issues with this highly sought Jaguar. Yes, the car, interior and engine bay is that clean. In the operations of a well respected remarketing firm in the European/exotics business for over 14 years this is one of the most perfect XK150's we have ever experienced at this price point
Auction includes many (boxed and shown in last image) original and or additional Parts including:
· Additional Original Grille - Requires Re-plating
· Original Distributor and Coil
· Assortment of new small extra parts i.e. body and bumper rubber seals
· Original (functional) Radiator and Fan/Pulley Assy
· Original Front and Rear Bumpers, F&R guards or Bumperette's and Black Finished Plinth Boards
· Additional Chrome and Trim Pieces Including vintage Originals
This is as we say in the industry a "real car". This being said it will only be shipped enclosed to insure safe arrival to its now home . . . .if you see this as just another car . . . please don't buy it.
