This XK150 is an absolute BLAST to drive. There just isn't anything like the excitement of getting behind the wheel of a 1950's British sports car, with it's perfect balance of power and vintage handling. I would rate this particular Jaguar, or describe it, as an "Excellent Driver". It's not quite a concours-quality car, but it's in wonderful cosmetic condition, sound mechanical condition and it really turns heads.
I don't have much history for the car. It seems that it was the beneficiary of a restoration, which was completed in the 90's. It was bought three years ago, in California, in it's current condition, which is really very good, with good paint and a stunning interior. The chrome on this car is spectacular! All of the interior and exterior chrome pieces were either replaced or refinished, because everything is outstanding.
The only cosmetic detail that keeps this from being a real Concours contender is the finish of the paint job. Although it was done very well, there are a couple of patches, which in certain light, reveal some of that "orange peel" effect you can sometimes get. To the casual observer, it might never be noticed.
It's also been well-maintained and mechanically sorted. All of the electrics, lights and turn signals work. The tires are a vintage-style Dunlop tire and have plenty of tread. The transmission is mostly very good, except first gear, which feels like it needs a little attention.

Desirable FixedHead Coupe
The Car: What a splendid example of an XK150 this fixedhead coupe presented. Finished in Olde English White its interior has been completely done in dark red with comfortable leather bucket seats, with the door panels and dashboard finished in perfectly matched similar materials. The Smith's gauges are clean and clear, with both the speedometer and tachometer prominently displayed in the center pod. It seems to have benefitted from a restoration completed in the 1990's, and still shows quite well. In fact, the chrome brightwork of this car is stunning with deep reflective qualities. While we did detect a couple of minor blemishes to the finish of the paint, these could easily be remedied, and the average person would miss these issues completely. With all the mechanics and electrics sorted out, this XK150 is just waiting for the next adventure down the road with you behind the steering wheel.
