Ebay item 2/26/08

Current bid $19,600 reserve not met, 3 bids, 4 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
One of the straightest set of panels you will ever experience on a classic car and this one is a “DRIVER”! C-type head, 210-219 hp. Engine is strong, transmission is 4 speed with overdrive, non-syncro 1st. Good power and compression through all the gears and yes, it floats well into overdrive (overdrive switch works well too). As with all old Jags, uses oil but not too much. Shifts well.

No reason to mention small mechanical issues, if you’re buying a car of this class, tuning up steering, drive train and such are always part of the territory. I can say that this car has no problem with freeway driving or safety. As one appraiser stated truthfully, “These are just never seen in as good a shape as this!” Starts quickly every time.

Absolutely no dents or dings on the panels (2 imperceptible hail dimples on the aluminum hood and a tiny one on the roof). Battery panels behind the wheels are there. (not seen in photos). New master cylinder for clutch and brake come with the car but are not installed

Paint is British Racing Green, looks good from 15 ft but be aware, chips are present but the car is by far a comfortable thing to be seen in.

Interior can be lived with if spruced up but again, part of the territory.

15” XKE wheels with knock-offs (descent shape) Brakes are ok.

In our opinion, the XK150 FHC is the real head-turner of all the XKs. Elegent, classic and by far the most refined yet original true sports car of the 20 year era.

1958 Jaguar XK 150 3.4 Fixed Head Coupe
LOT: 521
Estimate: $60,000-$80,000 US
Chassis No. S835207DN
Offered Without Reserve
AUCTION RESULTS: Lot was Sold at a price of $60,500

The 1958 Jaguar XK 150 Fixed Head Coupe presented here in Sherwood Green with a black interior is a matching numbers example fitted with the potent 3.4 liter six-cylinder engine and twin SU carburetors. The car was treated to a primarily cosmetic restoration that was recently completed and included a complete body restoration and a comprehensive repaint by the Jaguar experts at Classic Showcase. The brightwork was re-chromed or polished as needed. All new suspension bushings and a-arms were installed, as were new brake calipers and hoses. Otherwise, most of the original parts and hardware still remain under the bonnet in good serviceable condition.

An extremely well equipped example, the Coupe comes with many factory features and original parts such as the four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive, dual exhausts, the original air cleaner, carburetors, voltage regulator, Lucas driving lights, twin mirrors mounted on top of the fenders, steering wheel, horn button, instruments, sun visors, new 16-inch wire wheels and much more. Overall this Jaguar is a very original XK 150, which is verified by a Heritage Certificate of Authenticity that accompanies the car. Other desirable items included in the sale are a jack, grease gun and spare tire.

An excellent running and driving car showing 13,628 miles on the odometer this XK 150 FHC has lovely, original patina. It could be shown or driven with pride and is ready to be enjoyed.

Sellers description:
Gorgeous 1958 Jaguar XK150 Fixed Head Coupe with a 4 Speed Manual Transmission. Finished in a Willow Green Exterior and Black Leather Interior, this Jaguar XK150 is simply beautiful! Purchased during 2009, the current owner is now selling this XK150 because he was too tall to fit inside! Shortly after its purchase however, this XK150 was taken to Frank McLain, a renowned Jaguar Specialist of Encino California, for extensive refurbishing. Included in the long list of performances completed, this XK150 Coupe saw repairs and replacement of the Radiator, Engine and Transmission Mounts, Hand Brake Pads, Clutch Master Slave Cylinder, Carburetors and Reseal, Front and Rear Shocks, fresh Vredestein Tires, Tachometer, Brake and Hose Lines, as well as all oils and fluids, and much more. Also, this Jaguar has seen refurbishing of its Headliner, Door Panels, Dashboard, and other accessories and trimmings, while its Front and Rear Seats appear to be original, having been recently re-bolstered. As the successor to the outgoing XK140 Models, this XK150 Coupe underwent many mechanical improvements including a dual carbureted 3.4 Liter Inline 6 producing nearly 200 horsepower, 4 Wheel Disc Brakes, Telescoping Steering Wheel, Wire Knockoff Wheels, Push Start Engine Button, and more! Additionally, this Jaguar clearly shows its intact Chassis, Body, and Engine Numbers, which are S835207D, J8432, and V2786-8 respectively. With the extensive services recently performed, this Jaguar runs and drives beautifully without vibration or worry of overheating. All electrical and motorized components to this Jaguar are functioning and usable. Paint is excellent and the fit and finish of this Jaguar's trimmings, panels, doors, and accessories are very sound; and need only to be seen and felt in person. This excellent example Jaguar is surprisingly easy to drive and a real pleasure. This XK150's patina shows the character and history of this sophisticated coupe, easily taking you back to its time. This elegant Coupe combines ingenious innovations, classic Jaguar styling, and superior performance characteristics to make this Jaguar XK150 Fixed Head Coupe far ahead of its time and the ultimate Sports Luxury Coupe of the era.

Monterey 2024

1958 Jaguar XK 150 3.4 Fixed Head Coupe

$80,000 - $100,000 USD  | Offered Without Reserve

Monterey, California

Chassis No. S835207DN

Engine No. V2786-8

Body No. J8432

Cylinder Head No. V2786-8

US Title

Retains matching-numbers engine, cylinder head, and body

Fitted with a five-speed Medatronics JT5 manual transmission

Finished in a very attractive light green over a black interior

Accompanied by a Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate and service handbook

Completed in February 1958, the Jaguar XK 150 3.4 Fixed Head Coupe presented here was originally finished in Sherwood Green over a Suede Green interior. It is a matching-numbers engine, cylinder head, and body example fitted with the potent 3.4-liter six-cylinder engine and twin SU carburetors. The car was treated to a primarily cosmetic restoration around 2009 that included a complete body restoration and comprehensive repaint (in a lighter color reminiscent of Jaguar’s Willow Green) by the Jaguar experts at Classic Showcase. The brightwork was re-chromed or polished as needed. All new suspension bushings and A-arms were installed, as were new brake calipers and hoses.

Purchased by the current owner in 2010 from Everybody Loves Raymond actor Brad Garrett, the Jaguar has since been improved by the installation of a five-speed gearbox. A collection of invoices from this period of ownership further illustrates the mechanical work performed on the car to ensure roadworthiness. The most recent document dated to November 2023 notes a clutch master cylinder replacement, carburetor jet assembly replacement, and the filling of fresh fluids. In addition, its four-speed gearbox accompanies the sale, along with a service handbook.

A handsome example of a timeless classic with an eye-catching exterior color, this XK 150 is not an example to pass by.
