cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-XK150-1959-XK150-FHC-HERITAGE-CERT-SHOW-WINNER-NO ...
Opening bid $65,000, no reserve, no bids yet, 5 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
1959 Jaguar XK150 Coupe (FHC). 107,953 Miles on this beauty. This is the 50th anniversary year for Jaguar. Of this model built between 1957 and 1961, only 638 were sold in the U.S. in 1959. It is a rust free CALIFORNIA CAR. It is old English white, with red leather and vinyl red rugs. It has a new head liner and rain gutters. It has a wooden Moto Lita steering but I do have the original. It has new floor boards and battery boxes. It has 5 wide white wall tires- 650-16, with heavy duty Michelin tubes. New Chrome wire wheels, new ball joints, new shocks. New four wheel disc brakes, new fuel pump, new windshield and rubber, and a new radiator and shroud. There are many new parts in this car that make it a fabulous looking driver. This car has never been driven in the rain and has been used primarily for local shows and events at which it has placed BEST OF SHOW. It has been certified by the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust with a certificate of numbers matching authenticity- it is as follows:
Model: Jaguar 3.4L XK150
Body Style: Fixed Head coupe
Specification: Left hand drive
VIN/Chassis number: S835793D/N
Engine Number: V5398-8
Body Number: J9410
Gearbox Number: JLS41926CR
Color, Exterior: Cream
Interior: Red
Date Built: 17 September 1958
Date Dispatched: 16 October 1958
Main Distributor: Jaguar Cars New York
First Owner: No first owner recorded
Additional Note: Vehicle equipped with close-ratio gearbox and overdrive
ENGINE: This engine was completely rebuilt and balanced 4000 miles ago. It is the 3.4 Liter 6 cylinder dual overhead cam engine. All numbers matching. It was bored .030 over, with new pistons and bearings installed. It also got a new timing chain and gears, and a new water pump. Both of the SU carburetors have been rebuilt as well. It is serviced regularly and runs and sounds beautiful.
TRANSMISSION: Standard 4 speed RWD with electric overdrive. Shifts through all gears smoothly and overdrive is functional.
EXTERIOR:
Body:. All in good condition, no rust at all- California car. PERFECT chrome. No accidents of any kind. It has been kept in a heated, dehumidified, insulated garage.
Paint: Good condition- a few touch up spots- Painted at some point during its lifetime- estimated 1990's.
Other: This car is irresistible to look at. Fun to drive. It has a sound like no other car on the road today. It has gotten a Concours score of 98.72 in 2005. It won the best of show in the British By The Sea in 2006 and has received numerous other awards.
INTERIOR: Red leather and vinyl, red rugs- All in good condition. New headliner and piping, new rubber around all of the windows. New rain gutters as well.
ELECTRICAL STUFF: This car has a 12 volt system that runs off of two new 6 volt batteries. All lights including headlights, tail, turn and fog, and reverse work properly. Electric choke solenoid stays on until the engine gets to normal operating temperature so it runs rich until that point. Electric overdrive is functional.
DRIVEABILITY: This car is very fun to drive a real head turner. It does not have power steering (sometimes hard to park). Dual exhaust just purrs- like music to the ears. It is a great road touring car- has been driven to and from Limerock on several occasions and to many other shows. A real classy car.
This is a beautifully kept piece of automotive history. I am selling this car for my father who has decided after years of caring for it, and driving it, to sell it.
