Car said to have been at Mecum Seattle auction 2014
Lot # S210 1959 Jaguar XK 150 3.8 Fixed Head Coupe; S/N S835883; Engine # S7329-9; Red/Tan leather; Older restoration, 3 condition; Hammered Sold at $43,500 plus commission of 8.00%; Final Price $46,980 - Chrome wire wheels, Vredestein blackwall radials, underdash radio. - Head number LC9449-8. Decent repaint, chrome and interior. Not beautiful, but sound and usable. A twenty year old restoration that's holding up well despite being driven. - The buyer of this Jag was pumped about getting it, and should have been, despite the mis-matched block and head numbers. It's a pretty, reasonably well maintained, sound example at a respectable price. Not the best one in the world (in fact, far from it) but more than good enough.

Car to be at auction 7/15
www.rmsothebys.com/sj15/motor-city/lots/1959-jaguar-xk150-38-fixed-head-coupe/10 ...
Auction description:
Motor City 25 July 2015
1959 Jaguar XK150 3.8 Fixed Head Coupe
Without Reserve
Chassis no. S 835883
One of just 1,070 fixed head coupes built for the 1959 model year
Equipped with the desirable 3.8-liter and four-speed manual gearbox
An excellent driver-quality example in excellent colors
This Signal Red fixed head coupe is finished with a biscuit leather interior and is described by the consigner as a great driving example. It has nice exterior chrome, as well as five new Vredestein blackwall radial tires mounted on five equally new Dayton chrome wire wheels. The owner also notes that the car is matching numbers and equipped with its original 3.8-liter powerplant. Most recently, the top end of the engine has been comprehensively overhauled, including a valve job, rebuilt carbs, and a new radiator. In addition, the engine compartment was detailed after this work was completed.
This is the ideal XK150 for vintage events, JCNA tours, or simply arriving in style no matter where you go.

I purchased S 835883 directly from the owner on Bainbridge Island, WA in Sept., 2015 after the Ebay auction ended. I live in Kenmore, WA and have the car there. The car is in excellent condition; but is NOT numbers matching, which the seller made clear to me before I bought it. This is the same car that was owned by Terry Foren.

In response to Peter Ingram's comment on 09/14/06, this is same car that was listed in the XK Gazette as owned by Terry Foren. I believe the chassis number cited in the Gazette had a typo and is incorrect. The correct chassis number is S835883.
