1 of just 3,095 LHD XK150 Fixed Head Coupes to leave Browns Lane, chassis S835947DN was completed on 23rd December 1958. A desirable `Special Equipment' model, its 3442cc DOHC straight-six engine was topped with an uprated B-type cylinder head and allied to four-speed manual plus overdrive transmission. Finished in Cream with Red upholstery and supplied new via Jaguar Cars New York, the XK150 is understood to have (a) spent quite some time in California and (b) belonged to the prestigious Blackhawk Collection before being repatriated by CAR Howard during Spring 1989. Acquired by its sole UK registered keeper shortly thereafter, `GSK 933' has reportedly spent the last twenty-six years avoiding wet or salt covered roads. Treated to new `J' spot headlights and replacement bumpers upon its return from the USA, more recent work is said to have seen the Fixed Head Coupe benefit from attention to its water pump, thermostat, cooling system, temperature/oil gauge, braking system, fuel pump and twin SU carburettors plus the fitment of a new stainless steel exhaust. Pleasingly able to boast `matching' chassis, engine and body numbers, `GSK 933' is described by the vendor as being in `good' condition with regard to its engine, gearbox, bodywork, electrical equipment and interior trim (while, he rates the paintwork as `fair'). Due to be freshly MOT tested ahead of sale, this much-loved XK150 is temptingly priced and offered for sale with history file including Jaguar Cars Ltd Heritage Certificate, copy service manual and 1991 valuation for £55,000.

Car now offered at:

Sellers description:
Vintage and Prestige Fine Motor Cars are proud to be offering this 1959 Jaguar XK150 FHC LHD Manual Overdrive for sale. This Californian Jaguar was in the noted 'Blackhawk Collection' for many years in Danville California, prior to finding its way back to its home shores a couple of decades ago.

This is a very original and honest Jaguar XK150 FHC in fine order throughout and has not been the recipient of major restoration work. The interior is delightful and has a lovely feel to it.

The Jaguar XK150 FHC is finished in Jaguar 'Cream' with a red interior as specified on the heritage sheets. The paint has one or two minor age related cracks that do not detract in any way from the lovely overall appearance of the car.

The Jaguar XK150 FHC starts readily with the 3.4 liter engine pulling well with good compression. Being an overdrive Jaguar, it is long legged on the road running well in modern traffic. It sits on wire wheels retained by knock off hubs. A full stainless steel exhaust has also been fitted along with recent master and slave cylinders. New brake pads and discs have also been fitted.

Overall this is a good original Jaguar in fine order and as such it has a lovely feel to it. The Jaguar XK150 FHC comes with a good assortment of bills attesting to regular no expense spared maintenance since its return to the UK.

1958 Jaguar XK150 LHD (1959) For sale from Renaissance Classic Sports Cars , in Surrey, United Kingdom £69,950
Reg No. GSK 933
1958 Jaguar XK150 LHD
Chassis No. 5825947 DN
Engine No. V6188-8
Gearbox No. TBA
Odometer. TBA

Our XK150 presented in 'Old English White' being a late 1958 build benefits from the high performance Special Equipment package and is the very last of the 3.4 cars.

Exterior - This example presents beautifully in Old English White. The body is very straight and appears to have been extremely well looked after. In our opinion this car has a warm unrestored feeling that is becoming very desirable with so many over restored classic cars about. The car appears to retain all of its original fixtures and the chrome work is bright and un-pitted.
Interior - Retaining all original dials, steering wheel and fittings the XK150 cabin feels spacious and luxurious. The seats feel solid and having been sympathetically re-trimmed present very well, as do the carpets.
Engine / Transmission - Having been subject to our 131 point mechanical inspection upon arrival any faults will have been identified and rectified. The reliable 3.4 Litre unit starts and runs well showing a healthy oil pressure. The four speed manual Moss gearbox also performs very well.
Wheels / Tyres / Brakes - Fitted with modern 16' Chromed wire wheels and new tyres for both reliability and safety. These upgraded wheels produced by a very well respected company really finish the car well. The brakes have been overhauled recently and have ample stopping power.
History File - Current V5 certificate. Our 131 point inspection report. Bundles of invoices for maintenance and service work. Old mot certificates. Correspondence between previous keepers and the Jaguar owners club. A good comprehensive history file.

Make Jaguar Model XK150 Fixed Head Coupe

Part of the noted ‘Blackhawk Collection’ for many years in Danville California, prior to returning to the UK in the 1990s, this lovely original example was built when new to high performance Special Equipment specification, and fitted with an overdrive gearbox. Although never completely restored the XK benefits from much recent attention, and so still shows a delightful patina often missing from freshly restored examples.

We understand the XK starts readily, the 3.4 litre engine pulls well and shows good compression and oil pressure, and with the overdrive switch flicked is perfect for longer distance journeys. A full stainless steel exhaust has been fitted along with recent master and slave cylinders, also new brake pads and discs. Brand new chrome wire wheels have been mounted on each corner.

Overall this is a good original Jaguar in fine order and as such it has a lovely feel to it. Offered with comprehensive file of invoices for works completed, we are delighted to be able to supply this lovely XK to the lucky next owner.
