This 1959 Jaguar XK 150 Fixed Head Coupe has been restored to a high level and modified for comfort and drivability. The 3.4L inline six has been rebuilt and modified for performance with a high-lift performance cam, ported and polished head, stainless headers, lightened aluminum flywheel, and a 5-speed manual conversion. In 2003 the car received a documented $17k paint job, and in 2004 the interior was comprehensively restored with later XJS seats fitted. The seller says the 71,889 miles showing on the odometer are believed to be original based on service records.

Between 2003-04 the Jag was repainted and a fresh interior restoration done with all new leather, a high-end stereo, and Nardi wood steering wheel. Extensive service records date to 1982 (see photos) and the car was most recently serviced in 2014 at 71,699 miles. A lot of money has been spent over the years to bring the car to its current spec and condition.

The body was repainted in 2003 by Korva World Class Collision, a high-end specialty shop in Vancouver, and it shows very well today. Panel fit is excellent. The original color of the car was Moss Green, but the owner opted for the current dark green, which is described as a touch darker than British Racing Green.

Prior to restoration the car was a very solid example so a full body-off restoration was not necessary. All chrome was redone and in excellent condition as is the glass. Improved lighting is via halogen bulbs and a pair of Lucas driving lights. A high-end aftermarket stereo has also been installed and is neatly integrated.

The interior looks very fresh overall, having been restored in 2004 by BAS at a cost approaching $20,000 (invoices available). For comfort and safety the original seats were replaced with seats from an XJS and reskinned in biscuit leather.

The 3.4L Jaguar DOHC inline six-cylinder has been completely rebuilt, balanced and blueprinted. The head was ported and polished, oversized valves as well as a high-lift performance cam were added. The car is equipped with two-2″ SU carburetors, a lightened aluminum flywheel, stainless steel headers and exhaust system. Motor and trans work were done by Sovereign Motors in Vancouver and experienced Jaguar shop. The seller says the tech that performed the work is available to discuss the build. The engine makes strong power sent through a Borg Warner T5 transmission. Other modern upgrades are an aluminum radiator, new alternator and electronic ignition. Original carburetor air cleaner has been substituted with ram pipes.

The chassis is original and many good lift shots are provided below. Braking was improved with the addition of Series 3 discs with four-piston calipers, and a contemporary BMW power steering rack fitted. The car rides on 16″ x 6″ chrome wire wheels, shod with Michelin Pilot XGT V4 tires. and the overall driving experience is decidedly more modern than a stock XK150.

This 1959 Jaguar XK150 Fixed Head Coupe was owned by the seller for over 40 years before being sold to the third owner in 2012, and it was repurchased by the seller on Bring a Trailer in 2015. Power is from a 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six mated to a Borg Warner T5 5-speed manual transmission, and engine modifications include performance camshafts, a polished and ported cylinder head, and oversized intake valves. The car has been repainted in a custom dark green, and the refurbished beige leather interior features Jaguar XJS seats. Other modifications added by the seller during a refurbishment around 15 years ago include Series 3 XJ disc brakes, power steering, a custom sound system, and more. This XK150 is now being offered with records dating back to 1980, the original owner's manual, and a clean British Columbia registration in the seller's name.

Originally Moss Green, the exterior was repainted dark green in 2003 by Korva World Class Collision of Vancouver at a cost of over $17k. The chrome brightwork was also re-plated at that time, and the door and window seals were replaced in 2004. The seller notes a quarter-sized area on each front wing where the paint shows hairline cracking.

16×6" wire wheels with splined hubs have been added added and were fitted with 225/60 Michelin Pilot tires around 15 years ago. Series 3 XJ disc brakes were also installed during the refurbishment and feature 4-piston calipers up front. Other modifications included upgrading the headlights with halogen bulbs.

The interior was redone in 2004 by BAS Ltd. Vancouver and modified with re-upholstered Barley Beige XJS seats, custom door panels, and a Nardi steering wheel. A new burr walnut wood dash assembly was fitted in addition to new wood door cappings, a new headliner, and Cinnamon carpets. An aftermarket stereo is fitted below the dash as part of a custom balanced sound system, which also includes an amplifier in the trunk.

The odometer shows just over 73k miles, about 1k of which have been added in three years during the seller's second stint as owner. The seller says during his current and earlier ownership the car has been driven in dry summer months and stored in a heated garage during winter.

The drivetrain modification and other mechanical work was carried out at Sovereign Motors in Vancouver starting in the early 1980s, and service has continued at Octagon Motor Group, which is owned by Sovereign's former chief mechanic.
