The above information has been supplied by Jaguar Cars Limited in 1989 - Letter of Confirmation on file.
I have photographs of the restoration which I believe may have been completed between 1989 - 1995.
There are some bills and receipts for works undertaken between those dates, there are also old MOT's and Tax Disc's.
The car starts, stops and runs as it should - it is not a concours show winner but has been used as a good driving example having been used on the Channel Islands for 3 years previously.
We are located in Worcester WR3 7SW.

As its accompanying Heritage Certificate confirms, this particular car was supplied new to Jaguar Cars New York in May 1960. Cream with a red leather interior, it was equipped with the desirable overdrive gearbox option. Not much is known of the subsequent history of the car, but it returned to the UK in November 1989 and has had four keepers since, the current vendor having owned it since 1992. In the early 1990s it was treated to a bare metal restoration that was completed in 1993, with many photos on file charting the restoration as it progressed.
Old MOT certificates show that it covered some 2,000 miles over the next few years before being laid up in 2006. Recently brought out of storage, it is said to run well and is due to be issued with a fresh MOT before the sale. The bodywork remains in good sound condition throughout as does the chassis, while the red leather interior is in very good order with a nicely mellow patina. The chrome on the front bumper could now do with some attention but overall the car presents very well. These XK150s make surprisingly practical classics that can easily hold their own in modern traffic and this one looks good value at the guide price suggested today.

Exceptional condition
Originally sold by Jaguar Cars in New York on 2nd May 1960, this XK150 presents beautifully in Old English White with contrasting red leather interior. It was repatriated to the UK in November 1989 and appears to have been restored to a very high quality in the early 90’s. Presumably this is when it was converted to right hand drive format. The restoration included a bare metal respray, photos are available of the restoration. Fitted with a 3.8 litre engine and overdrive to the manual gearbox, making this a thoroughly enjoyable Jaguar to drive. The engine was fitted by T & L Engineering, specialists in Jaguar XK engines, the also carried out an extensive overhaul of the braking system. Further restoration work was carried out in 2002 and new chrome wire wheels fitted around 2005.
In addition to this a new wood-rim steering wheel has been fitted along with, Electric - Hydraulic Power Steering system, electronic ignition system with new spark plugs and HT & LT cables, new High Performance Ignition Coil, Kenlowe twin cooling fan and sensors. All courtesy of M & C Wilkinson Jaguar. It has also been converted to run on unleaded fuel. Clearly a much-loved example this Jaguar XK150 Fixed Head Coupé is in exceptional condition. Interested parties are advised to view the car in person to appreciate the quality of the workmanship. Consigned by Stewart Banks.
