Ebay item 9/13/13
MotorCarTrader.com is excited to offer this very rare and stunning 1961 Jaguar XK150 3.8 Fixed Head Coupe. This great car has been owned by the same gentleman since 1966 when he bought it on 7/2/66 with 52,560 miles on the car. The records on this Jaguar go back to 1962 at 10,500 miles from the original or previous owner. A log book going back to 1962 to 1969 is included with the corresponding miles and work done. In addition, there are several receipts after for work done to the car through his long term (47 years) ownership. He has placed about 1,300 miles a year during his ownership. This great car may not be a trailer queen or concours car, but it is more of an original type of car which is a nice driver to enjoy. Furthermore, it has the very rare Webasto working sunroof. More information on this great car:
The paint on the car is a little older, as it underwent an older cosmetic (body on) restoration, but still presents very well and looks great.
The head of the engine was rebuilt to run on unleaded fuel.
It has a solid original frame and solid inner and outer rockers.
The engine has good compression and oil pressure. It runs and drives great!
The electric overdrive does work. It engages and disengages nicely.
One of only 564 cars (Jaguar XK150 3.8 FHC Left hand Drive) produced with the 3.8 engine. Only 658 3.8 FHC (Fixed Head Coupe) cars were built. A late production car before the change to the Jaguar e-type (xke).
This car has the very rare and original Webasto sunroof, which slides and locks easily. The vinyl soft top also shows some patina, but is not ripped, dried out, shrunk or torn and does seal well.
Original color combination of Cream with Red leather interior.
Heritage Certificate to confirm numbers, color combination and confirm that this is indeed an original factory 3.8.
The leather interior is in very good and shows slight patina.
This Jaguar XK150 FHC comes with all the original tool roll, original tools, jack, ratchet , hammer and grease gun.
The original radio and radio mount is also included.
The chrome molding around the top of the window is missing as well as around the rear window.
A brand new stainless steel exhaust system was recently installed.
In addition, a new aluminum radiator was also installed for significantly better cooling.
This car has spent almost of its life after production near Austin, Texas and Greenboro, NC.

This Jaguar XK150 is truly a great find with long term ownership history and documentation. Also, rare is the Webasto sunroof, which is great for driving as it allows just enough air in and is very easy to close should the weather change unexpectedly. The car runs and drives like a dream! All of this into a rare Jaguar XK150 3.8 Coupe, makes this car truly a special and unique find!

The matching numbers as per the Heritage Certificate:
Chassis Number: S836992DN
Engine Number: VA 2148-9*
Body Number: J 11327
Gearbox Number: JLS 46671 JS
*Please note the engine head number is V 2148-9. Jaguar Archives suggested that this may be an error from the factory where they did not stamp the "A" in the head. The car had this head as we understand, all of its life and has never been changed. The previous owner confirmed this as well (same owner since 1966) The block number is the same as above (VA 2148-9).

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
