This 1958 Jaguar XK150 is a left-hand drive Drophead coupe that was built on October 25, 1957, and underwent a three-year refurbishment by XK’s Unlimited in San Luis Obispo, California that concluded in July 2021. The car was purchased by the seller’s family member in the 1970s and was later placed in storage in 1983 where it remained until it was acquired by the seller in 2015. This example is finished in maroon with a black soft top over a black interior and is powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes fender-mounted side mirrors, chrome bumpers, wire wheels, and four-wheel disc brakes. This XK150 DHC is offered with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, factory literature, service records, and a clean Nevada title in the seller’s name.

Originally finished in Carmen Red, the car was repainted in its current Imperial Maroon as part of the refurbishment, and the brightwork was re-chromed at that time. Equipment includes a black soft top, fender-mounted side view mirrors, chrome wrap-around bumpers with overriders, and dual exit exhaust outlets.

Chrome-finished 16” wire wheels wear two-eared knock-off spinners and are mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Braking is handled by servo-assisted four-wheel discs. Service in 2015 included replacing the wheel bearings and rotors in addition to rebuilding the brake calipers, booster, and master cylinder. The steering rack was rebuilt as part of the 2021 refurbishment .

The cabin was reupholstered during the refurbishment and features seating areas trimmed in black leather joined by a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Features include a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a passenger grab handle, a locking glovebox, and lap belts.

The four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of centrally-mounted Smiths instrumentation that includes a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer with an inset clock, and gauges for amperage, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 59k miles, approximately 150 of which were added by the seller. The removed Derrington steering wheel is included in the sale.

The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six features dual carburetors and was factory rated at 210 horsepower in SE trim. Service performed during the refurbishment included replacing the distributor with an electronic system, rebuilding the carburetors, and replacing the wiring harness.

Cylinder head stamping V1987–8 matches the number listed on the engine block as well as the chassis tag and Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate displayed below.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Additional underside photos are shown below.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate lists factory colors, identification numbers, and a manufacture date of October 25, 1957. Factory literature and a spare steering wheel are included in the sale.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
