This fine XK150 rolled off the Browns Lane Jaguar plant during the summer of 1958, equipped as a left-hand drive Drophead Coupe example, fitted with the rare Borg-Warner automatic transmission and most likely destined for the booming North American Jaguar market. Today the luxurious Jaguar presents beautifully restored in Carmen Red over a black leather interior with red piping and matching red carpets. A black Convertible top is fitted, tugged away under a black top cover when down. Classic California vanity license plates are fitted, as is a badge bar out front with Jaguar club badges and Lucas driving lights. Strong chrome and bright work adorn the graceful Drophead Coupe bodywork, matched by chrome wire wheels. Stainless-steel exhaust system and header is fitted, ensuring the right symphony out of the classic XK DOHC engine.
The ID plate appears to be the original one, indicating that the car retains its matching numbers engine block and cylinder head, and the originally specified Borg-Warner automatic transmission remains in place. Offered with books and records, this luxurious, top-of-the-line model of all the XK body styles features the fully evolved XK chassis with factory 4-wheel disc brakes. Well sorted with beautiful detailing throughout, this Jaguar would be a lovely cruiser on weekend drives.
