This 1959 Jaguar XK150 drop-head coupe is finished in Imperial Maroon lacquer with a tan top over a tan interior, and is powered by a numbers-matching 3.4L DOHC inline-six mated to a four-speed manual gearbox. It was built on August 12, 1958 for distribution by Jaguar Cars of New York as a Personal Export Delivery model, with original registration in the UK before importation to the US. The car was acquired in 1980 by its previous owner, who commissioned a restoration by marque specialists JK Restorations in Chicago, Illinois. It was subsequently displayed at several JCNA concours events in the late 1980s, and the seller brought the car to Montana with his purchase in 1994. Work carried out during the seller’s ownership has included adding electronic ignition, rebuilding the carburetors, refreshing the brake system, and replacing the clutch. This XK150 is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, an owner’s manual, a tool kit, factory ignition components, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s son.

Originally finished in Cream, the body was repainted in Imperial Maroon lacquer during the restoration that was completed in 1987. Areas of crazing or cracking are noted around the headlights are present, as is an area of thinning near the fuel filler door. Various stone chips are also noted on the fascia. A tan soft top was added during the restoration in place of the original blue top, and seller notes of a spot of worn chrome just behind the passenger-side window, and is only visible when the top is in the open position.

16” wire wheels wear Vredesten Sprint Classic tires that were mounted in 2007. Four-wheel Dunlop disc brakes were introduced as a standard feature on the XK150 model and are servo-assisted. The brake system on this example was overhauled in 2007, including a rebuild of the master cylinder.

The cabin was re-trimmed in tan leather during the restoration in lieu of the factory light blue upholstery. Additional features include matching wool carpeting, tan lap belts with “leaper” buckles, and a four-spoke steering wheel with an adjustable column. The trunk is lined in tan Hardura and houses a full-size spare and tools.

Smiths instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer. The five-digit odometer shows 84k miles, 10k of which have been added by the seller since 1994. A Radiomobile radio is situated under the dash.

The 3.4-liter XK inline-six was rebuilt during the restoration along with ancillary mechanical components, and the four-speed manual gearbox was rebuilt with sychromesh on all gears. The twin SU carburetors have been rebuilt during the seller’s ownership, and electronic ignition has been added. The clutch was replaced in 2007. Oil changes are said to have been carried out annually or every 3k miles, with the most recent service performed in May 2020.

Engine number V4857-8 stamped on the cylinder head, and a stamp of the same number on the engine block number matches that listed on the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, as does body number P6803, of which is also provided.

The tie rods and ends were replaced in 2020, and a four-wheel alignment was performed. The seller notes the presence of a hole in one of the mufflers, and states that two stainless steel mufflers have been ordered and will be installed for the buyer. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate lists the original colors, component numbers, and delivery information. Judging sheets from various JCNA events and other shows in the late 1980s and early 1990s accompany the car and include eight scores of over 99 and seven first-place awards. The car has also completed four Going to the Sun rallies in Montana with the seller. A video showing a walk-around, engine start, and in-car driving can view viewed below.
