Ebay item 3/26/09
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-XK-150-1959-Jaguar-XK150-DropHead-Convertible-Pro ...
Current bid $8,775 reserve not met, 4 bids 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
1959 Jaguar XK-150 3.4 DropHead Coupe (Convertible)
4 Speed Manual Gearbox with a Factory Electric Overdrive
This Car requires a COMPLETE RESTORATION IT IS A MAJOR PROJECT WELL WORTH RESTORING AS THE AVERAGE PRICE OF A RESTORED CLASSIC CAR IS CLOSE TO $100,000.00
THE CAR HAS BEEN OFF THE ROAD FOR DECADES THE ENGINE AND CYLINDER ARE COMPLETE AND MATCHING NUMBERS. I HAVE NOT TRIED TO FREE THE ENGINE, SO I'M SURE IT WILL NEED TO BE FREED
THE GEARBOX SHIFTS FREELY AND THE CAR DOES ROLL, SO THE REAR IS NOT LOCKED UP
THE BODY APPEARS TO BE COMPLETE, AND THERE IS RUST PRESENT IS SEVERAL PLACES AS PICTURED THE ENTIRE CAR NEEDS TO BE REFURBISHED
I HAVE MANY PARTS WHICH ARE INCLUDED WITH THE CAR
NEW Tan INTERIOR, NEW WINDSHIELD, ORIGINAL GAUGES HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY REBUILT. NEW SHEETMETAL FOR THE TRUNK AREA FOR THE SPARE TIRE, NEW STAINLESS STEEL EXHAUST, New Alloy gas tank, New Battery Boxes, New sills for both sides.
THE CAR WAS COMPLETE WHEN I PURCHASED IT AND I STARTED TO REMOVE PARTS TO START GETTING READY TO RESTORE IT
BUT HAVE TO MANY OTHER PROJECTS AND WOULD LIKE THE CAR TO GO TO SOMEONE WHO WILL FINISH IT THE RIGHT WAY
THE ENGINE NUMBER MATCHES THE VEHICLE TAG ON BOTH THE ENGINE AND HEAD
THE FRAME LOOKS SOLID, A LITTLE SCALY AND WILL REQUIRE SAND BLASTING, I HAVE NOT FOUND ANY SOFT SPOTS BUT THERE MIGHT BE
BECAUSE I HAVE NOT TAKEN THE BODY OFF THE FRAME
IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU INSPECT THIS CAR BEFORE BIDDING.
