Reported for sale in the October 2013 edition of the XK Gazette.
www.concoursmotorco.com/used/jaguar/xk/150/solihull/west-midlands/14518480

Sellers description:
Jaguar XK150 1959 3.4 Dhc convertible. lhd. Manual with rare factory fitted overdrive. Matching numbers car with Jaguar heritage certificate. A very original car 99% complete, starts first turn of the key, engine runs extremely well with no knocks, rattles or excessive smoking. Good clutch, axle and gearbox, excellent brakes, chassis totally rot free, body has some rust holes mainly in the boot area but overall in good all round condition and no signs of any previous welding. Has some lighting / wiring issues but charging system and gauges all working. Originally supplied in cream paintwork with red interior and black hood. It has had a re-spray in metallic red many years ago the hood changed and the seats have had a re-trim. It would be possible to use this car as is with some attention needed to the electrics however I don't intend to over describe this as a useable everyday classic as cosmetically it is very, very tired and would ideally benefit from a total restoration throughout. Good XK restoration projects are getting increasingly harder to find this example is probably as good as it gets for the price that we are asking. 86k miles.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
