I owned this car in the UK in 1973. It was then registered YNE111 and was white with a black interior. It was then sold to Anthony Lumsden-Cook who restored the car, painted it dark blue and registered it 1LUM

This motor car is to be offered at the Bonhams Goodwood Revival auction on 10 September, 2016. The car was acquired by the current owner direct from Lumsden-Cook in 1984. The Heritage certificate on file states the car's body no. as F 17212, whereas the Jaguar plate on the car has P 8118. F prefix denotes roadster; P prefix denotes Coupe. Bonhams have had two independent XK specialists inspect the car and they regard the body as an original roadster and have found no evidence of the body once being a coupe. The car retains its original head and block - numbers clearly visible, and the car's actual chassis stamping is both visible and in the correct place.

Records show the correct original body is F 17212 Body P 8252 would fit a 150 LHD Drophead built around Feb 1960 Body P 8118 would also fit LHD DHC around Dec 1959 The other numbers appear correct

Anthony Lumsden-Cook also owned, in 1959, a 1953 XK120 FHC, 669045, registered as NDU 905, which he raced at least three times in 1959. Once at Brands Hatch and twice at Silverstone. That car is in New Zealand, needing a total restoration.
