Car to be at auction 10/13
www.coys.co.uk/auction.php

Auction description:
Lot 160 - 1959 Jaguar XK150 3.8 S Coupe
Estimate: £50,000 - £60,000
Registration Number: 6007RE
Chassis Number: T825056DN

The 1959 XK150S on sale today is an original right hand drive example and was delivered new with a Laycock de Normanville overdrive. The exterior is finished in XK red, and is presented in good overall condition. The bonnet has been modified for fast road events , incorporating louvered air vents and a bonnet strap. The interior also follows this theme, with wonderful bucket seats, offering its driver and passenger complete support on a country road. Mechanically the car is in good order, and is supplied with various invoices from Jaguar specialists, and of course the all important Heritage Certificate.

With the prices of S specification roadsters now at £300,000 for a well restored example, this delightful 3.8 S could easily prove to be a shrewd investment.

1959 Jaguar XK 150 'S' Coupe
We have acquired this lovely and super rare original RHD Jaguar XK150 'S' 3.8 Coupe. With period competition history this would be a fantastic car to use for continental touring, rallyes or just weekend jaunts.

The beauty of this car is that not only is it a hugely rare machine with competition history (image courtesy of Paul Skilleter) but it also presents a great opportunity for you to specify any Broad Sport upgrades prior to delivery.

A true drivers car and a fantastic investment!

Car to return to auction 9/16

Auction description:
The Salon Privé Sale 2016
1959 Jaguar XK150 3.8 S Fixedhead Coupe
Lot No.: 255

Registration: 6007 RE
Chassis Number: TS825056DN
Engine Number: ZA3588-8
Number of cylinders: 6
CC: 3800cc
Year of Manufacture: 1959
Estimate (£): 85,000 - 95,000

This exceptionally rare, original right-hand drive 3.8 S Fixedhead Coupe is finished in red with black leather interior and has lived a truly fascinating existence. 6007 RE was extensively raced during the 1970s and 1980s in the UK, most notably by respected historic racer Dave Preece, who raced Aston Martins at Le Mans. In the photos attached, he is seen racing the car at Silverstone and Brands Hatch for Jaguar team Oldham and Crowther.

During the 1990s, this important XK150 was owned by a Doctor, who used it for road touring and endurance rallies. More recently, the car has been raced by respected Jaguar specialist Neil Fender in Malta last year. The engine and running gear are reported to be strong and the car has recently been serviced and gone through by Guy Broad. In addition, the car was subject to a bare metal repaint in 2015 and the paintwork is in lovely condition.

The vendor would like the car to go to a good home, where it will be driven and enjoyed. Fender Broad have also offered to help the new owner get FIA papers for the car. We have no doubt that chassis number TS825056DN would take pride of place amongst any Jaguar collection in the world. Supplied with a number of old invoices and previous MoT certificates, it would be fantastic to see the car back on the UK historic racing scene in 2017.

This exceptionally rare, original right-hand drive 3.8 S Fixedhead Coupe is finished in red with a black leather interior and has lived a truly fascinating existence. As part of the Oldham and Crowther Jaguar Team, 6007 RE was extensively raced on UK circuits during the 1970s and 1980s, most notably by respected historic racer Dave Preece, who was best known for his exploits in Aston Martins at Le Mans.

During the 1990s, this important XK150 was owned by a Doctor, who used it for touring and occasional road rallies, and more recently, the car has been raced by respected Jaguar specialist Neil Fender in Malta last year. The engine and running gear are reported to be strong and the car was serviced and checked through by Guy Broad a couple of years ago. In 2015, the XK was fully stripped, carefully prepared and professionally repainted in Carmen Red. The paintwork remains in lovely condition, the shut lines are good and the Jaguar looks sporty and purposeful enhanced by the 'Coombs' style louvred bonnet and wide chrome-wire wheels. The black leather interior is gently patinated and the bucket seats look absolutely fit for purpose, providing good support when you are 'pressing-on' and snug comfort for long distance touring.

From a private collection, the car has been lightly used for the last couple of years and now needs a new home. We have no doubt that chassis number TS825056DN would take pride of place in any Jaguar collection in the world, although it would be good to see it out and about again. Supplied with a number of old invoices and previous MOT Certificates in the interesting history file,

What a great opportunity. A rare, UK 150'S' in Carmen Red and black leather, with dished chrome wires, strapped louvred bonnet, bucket seats, a period competition history, in lovely condition, and at a sensible guide - marvellous.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
