Sellers description:
This is an extremely rare car. Only 115 right hand drive 3.8 XK150S fixedheads were produced and this is one of very few surviving cars. This XK was supplied to the main London Jaguar dealer on the 1st of December 1959 with registration 7232 PO (Portsmouth) for a customer in that area. After a few years in the UK it was bought by an Australian dentist who kept it in the UK for European touring holidays. Later he imported it into his home town of Sydney where it stayed until 20 years ago when it was purchased by Lord McAlpine, a close confident and advisor to Margaret Thatcher, and reimported it to the UK.
This is an original right hand drive 'S' specification and drives as such. This was most powerful iteration of the XK featuring triple 2" carburetors, straight port head, a 9:1 compression ratio and uprated brakes. The photos show it has the correct inlet manifold which was only ever fitted to the XK150 S. This powerful, torquey and smooth engine combined with an original overdrive gearbox makes the a true touring Jaguar and a very comfortable drive. The addition of electronic power steering, 1.2.3. electronic ignition, radiatior expansion tank and electronic cooling fan make this a very reliable and practical car.
The paint work is in great condition and shows none of the usual signs of fading which plague red car. This is a stunning car to look at and has very good panel work. The interior is in excellent condition as well, the only modification being a motolita wood rimmed steering wheel.
