Asking Price: £ 24,750.00

An excellent example of this rare model, only 50 built in RHD.
Runs and drives fantastically. Benifitting from a very recent thorough sort through by ourselves to ensure it is in excellent driving condition. Now with a UK MOT certificate Over £4,000 spent september 2005.
The enthusiast owner has commissioned / undertaken extensive works during his 10 year ownership which would easily cost some £10,000 to do. A very powerful and fast car.

This rare 150 S model has been locally owned for almost 12 years by an enthusiast. 265 BHP (High compression head and tripple carbs) this engine was soon fitted into the new Jaguar the E Type. A rare car
Only 150 of these 'S' FHC models were produced. A matching numbers car with a heritage certificate. An extensive history file accompanies this car.

Extensive restoration work has been under taken to include more recently a complete new boot floor, battery tray and new screen rubbers.
The bodywork is not concours, but it certainly is a very tidy example and very much rust free. An extensive body restoration was undertaken in 1990 , (photographic records in file)

Most definately the biggest strength of this vehicle is its mechanicals, having had extensive works under taken by the present owner and more recently by ourselves.
To include front and rear axle (suspension) overhaul, a brake overhaul and carburation overhaul, re-wiring, new tyres, and a stainless exhaust system etc. We have also just worked through it and ironed out any problems/ faults. Some 400 miles have been covered and it is a fantastic driving car.

The original red leather interior is still fitted but the carpets, door, panels and dash have been replaced.
The combination gives an excellent tidy interior with patina.

Car to be at auction 6/18
www.coys.co.uk/cars/1960-jaguar-xk150s-fixed-head-coupe

Auction description:
ESTIMATE £160,000- £190,000
Auction Blenheim Palace
Lot Number 349
Reg. Number UK Registered
Chassis Number 232258DN
Year 1960
Make Jaguar
Model XK150S Fixed Head Coupe

Representing the XK150 in its highest specification, with 265bhp 3.8-litre engine and overdrive gearbox, this ultra-rare 'S' Fixed Head Coupe was despatched in February 1960 to J.E. Bullock & Son in Manchester to a Dr. Doreen Hayes, finished in Pearl Grey with a Red leather interior. In more recent years the XK150 has enjoyed much care and attention by recognised specialists such as Mark Danes, who completed a body and mechanical restoration in the early 1990's, which included an overhauled gearbox and new clutch. The car was treated to further attention by highly regarded restorers LeRiche in Jersey, including the fitting of a stainless steel fuel tank.

Returning to England, in the current long term ownership the XK150 has more recently benefited from rebuilt brakes, suspension, steering, and re-trim courtesy of Aldridge of Wolverhampton (who also replaced the windscreen with a correct part-tinted item). Notably the XK has spent six weeks during 2017 in the care of Jaguar Heritage of Ryton, where it enjoyed a health check, compression test and further minor improvements.

Nicely finished in old English white with black leather interior, this represents an exciting opportunity to acquire the ultimate version of the legendary XK family.

Originally supplied by Henlys Limited, Manchester, this gorgeous XK150 has certainly been enjoyed over the years, embarking on a range of adventures. As the included paperwork will show, the vehicle spent time in Germany, before then venturing to Jersey. In 1993, the vehicle had received over 450 hours of restoration work, consisting of a bare metal body rebuild, and a light mechanical overhaul.

The final stages of the restoration were then completed by the highly regarded Le Riche Automobile Restorers in 1996. Throughout its time with Le Riche, this Jaguar was given a new boot floor, new body mounts, restored wings, chassis leg repairs, underside treatment, and areas of new paintwork.

The vehicle was then purchased from Le Riche by the current owner, who traveled to Jersey to purchase the vehicle, before returning to England where the car now sits. Throughout their time with this XK150, the current keeper has thoroughly enjoyed the car, treasuring it every step of the way. It is only due to a reduction of their collection that this gorgeous Jag now awaits a new home, where it will no doubt continue to impress.

All history of the restoration work and repairs can be found within the included collection of paperwork, which is rather vast indeed, with invoices dating back to the early 90s. Also included within the paperwork are invoices for maintenance & consumables, along with the V5C document, heritage certificate, and an original handbook.

The Interior

Retrimmed interior

Excellent condition

Fitted with seatbelts

Webasto roof

Spare wheel & partly complete toolkit included

The interior of this XK150 shows off an expertly retrimmed interior, courtesy of Aldridge Trimming in 2012. As you would perhaps expect given the low mileage covered since the retrim, the interior is in fantastic condition, with very little to fault.

Both front seats are in superb condition, with only incredibly minor wear marks to the driver’s side, noticeable only upon very close inspection. The rear seats follow closely, perhaps having seldom been used over the years, and now showing only minor temporary marks.

Carpeting throughout the cabin is equally impressive, adding plenty of colour and comfort to the interior. The floor mats over top do show minor fraying and defects but still serve as excellent protection for the pristine carpets underneath. As shown in the images, the passenger’s door card does appear to show overspray of some kind and may require a dash of TLC.

As is seemingly the case with many fixed head examples, this Jaguar also shows off a Webasto roof, which neatly folds back on those sunny days. Surrounding the roof, you’ll find re-trimmed headlining, which seemingly shows no noticeable marks.

Although hardly packed with technology, buyers will be pleased to know that all electronic components and instruments throughout the interior are believed to be in full working order. Contact points for controls also show very few signs of use and look excellent. A 1960's Motorola radio is included in the sale that still to be fitted with the car

The Exterior

Old English White paintwork

Previously restored

Iconic FHC styling with XK150 improvements

Previously re-plated chrome

Recent tinted front windscreen

Finished in a truly classy colour, this XK150 presents itself beautifully for its age, no doubt benefitting from its previous restoration work. As the vehicle has of course been used as intended since its time with Le Riche in the mid-’90s, there are minor noticeable defects to note.

You may notice minor marks to the wheel arches as pictured, along with minor marks to the lower sills and the expected front-end specks. On the front wing where a mirror once sat, there is a slight colour difference surrounding the bung. This is only noticeable from a specific angle, and all defects mentioned are rather minor.

In 2007, both bumpers, the grille, and the trim components were stripped, and re-plated. The chrome appears to have aged rather well since, showing only incredibly minor signs of age within the finish. All other exterior trim such as badging, glass, and details present themselves well, with no noticeable marks.

The car currently sits on a set of replacement wire-spoke wheels, with a shiny set of Jaguar chrome spinners. The wheels are in excellent condition, showing only a few incredibly minor marks. The wheels are wrapped in a welcome set of Vredestein Sprint Classic tyres, with plenty of tread left to enjoy. Also included with the vehicle, are 5 original wire wheels, finished in white.

The Mechanics

3.8L straight-six

Manual with overdrive

Previously restored

Regularly serviced

Well maintained

Runs and drives brilliantly

Stainless steel exhaust

Buyers will be pleased to know that this XK150 fires up and performs without a single known fault. As mentioned above, the vehicle benefits from a great deal of restoration work and sports a host of rebuilt/new parts.

This Jaguar features new shock absorbers, new rear springs, a reconditioned differential, new wheel splines, rebuilt brakes, a new steering donut, a new water pump, new electronic fuel pumps and overhauled dynamo.

The car has also received a new thermostat, new radiator, new master & slave cylinders, a reconditioned steering rack, a new distributor cap and rotor arm, carb floats & gaskets, a new ignition coil, and a helicoil fitted in cylinder 4. The car is also fitted with a stainless steel exhaust, which offers a very tasteful note as you rev through the gears.

As the extensive paperwork and above partial list suggest, this XK150 now needs nothing to be enjoyed out on the roads. The car has been regularly serviced and performs without a known electrical or mechanical fault.

Car returns to auction 7/23

www.bonhams.com/auction/27997/lot/257/1960-jaguar-xk150s-38-litre-coupe-chassis- ...

Auction description:

Goodwood Festival of Speed / 1960 Jaguar XK150S 3.8-Litre Coupé Registration no. YVS 713 Chassis no. T825138DN Engine no. VAS1128-9

Lot 257

£75,000 - £100,000

• One of only 115 right-hand drive 3.8 'S' fixed-head coupés

• Present ownership since 2005

• Well maintained

• Comprehensive history file

Representing the XK150 in its ultimate configuration, with the 3.8-litre 'S' engine and overdrive gearbox, 'T825138DN' was delivered new in February 1960 via Henlys Ltd to dealer J E Bullock & Sons Ltd for their customer, Dr Doreen Hayes of Cheshire. The accompanying JDHT certificate records that the car was originally finished in Pearl Grey with red trim, and confirms matching chassis and engine numbers. Unfortunately, nothing else is known of its early history.

The current vendor purchased the XK in December 2005 in Jersey, Channel Islands, where it had resided since 1994 (the previous owner was about to sail his yacht around the world, hence the reason for selling). Apparently, the XK was in Germany for ten years from 1983 to 1993 before going to a John Smith in Peterborough, who appears to have kept it until 1994. That same year the car was sold via Marksdanes Restorations Ltd to a Mr P J M McCallim in Jersey. While in Jersey the XK was looked after by LeRiche Restorers until sold to our vendor in 2005. LeRiche carried out one or two jobs plus fitting a Webasto sunroof before delivering the car in March 2006.

All receipts relating to works carried out since 1993 are in the history file. These have include bodywork renovation and a partial re-spray; gearbox/overdrive rebuild; various other mechanical jobs and bodywork refurbishment; and attention to the carburettors, rear axle, fuel pumps, hub bearings, brake discs, etc. In 2012 Aldridge Trimming reupholstered the interior and also fitted a tinted windscreen, supplied by Coventry Auto Components. In 2017 the car went to Jaguar Classic for checks and the insertion of a helicoil in number 4 cylinder. The related bill for £5,000 is on file together with many receipts from specialist parts suppliers such as S N G Barratt, etc.

Described by the private vendor as in very good condition throughout, 'YVS 713'' represents a wonderful opportunity for the serious Jaguar collector to own a rare example of one of the most powerful limited-production XKs manufactured by Jaguar Cars.
